This guy is a bust.. Please bench him and let Butler start..We looked terrible! We could have used Samuel! Defense got younger but we lost all the play makers!

A little drastic there, as everyone in the secondary sucked. However I agree that Wilhite MUST be moved to nickelback. His top potential is 2nd CB with no one else better on the team. Butler at least brings some upside and he cant be any worse.
McGowan also needs to be benched and instead rotate between Sanders and Chung. Chung needs to get some playing time and since we arent in contention (Not with this crappy rebuilding team/stupid coaching staff) why not? Bugress does NOTHING, maybe they should play those younger defensive linemen? -

Any secondary would get torched with no pass rush, this is not on any of the corners. Imagine what Brady would have done with no pass rush... Game was won in the trenches. -

It was the D-line that lost this game, they can defend the run, but no pressure. Any secondary will get eaten up if the front cannot get pass rush going. Saint pressure on Brady was the difference. -

Wilhite should be benched! Every time a ball was thrown to his side it was a TD.. -

Face it! Our coach is as stubborn as they come.. but thats what we love about him. Wilhite's going to continue to get plenty PT. We're probably going to let Wilfork walk and dont address a DT until the 5th Rd and We'll be talking about Woods, Crable, Thomas, and Banta-Cain being our rush specialists for awhile.
Banta-Cain isn't good. he's just the best we have. But in BB we trust. I still trust him but i been skeptical for awhile now. -

[I agree that Wilhite looked bad on the quick throws, but there were a few of them where Brees had all day and as bad as Wilhite is he cannot be expected to cover for that long.
My biggest mystery is why we almost had no blitzes, is BB giving certain QB's too much respect? If you are going to get torched everytime anyway, why not be a little more of a gambling defense? Is BB holding back knowing he may se them again? His two most vanilla defensive gameplans have been against the Colts and the Saints... -

We should have kept Seymour. Asante would have been nice to have on the field. -

Posted by FLY2KHe's a second year player still learning. Also, Brees made some excellent throws. And before you hang him, remember that Nmandi Asomugha took three years to develop. I'm not saying Wilhite's anywhere near that good, but try to remember that the kids are works in progress. -

Posted by NOISEB*llsh*t!!!!!Asante wouldn't have gotten burned - he would have QUIT ON THE PLAY, JUST LIKE HE DID ON THE DAVID TYREE CATCH.THat's right: David Tyree was Asante Samuel's man and Samuel dropped off of coverage before the whistle blew and never bothered to hustle back over to try to recover and make a play.He was also cited by TMQ on ESPN as quitting rather frequently on Vincent Jackson touchdown catches in the Eagles' loss in San Diego.I understand the feelings you have, but be RATIONAL. -

When Asante left..most fans it seemed said good riddance.
Hubris will kill you.
Mike Vrabel had 12 sacks in 2007.
Not much production in that department since either. -

Wilhite can play, and I actually think he could develop into a solid nickel or slot corner. That being said, he can't play the outside at all, he has terrible ball skills downfield. I'd rather see Butler learn on the fly outside where he belongs, while Wilhite goes inside. -

In the pass happy NFL corner back has become a critical position but even this best CB will get torched if there is no pressure on the QB! I say if you get a guy like the Pats had in Assante Samuels, you sign him before he hits free agency! -

Yeah we shouldn't have let Lawyer Milloy go either - oh yeah, we won a Super Bowl that year. Our team needs some work right now and doesn't look like a Super Bowl team as of this week but I for one am glad that some of the prima donnas who wanted top dollar were sent elsewhere.Having said that, sure it would have been great if A. Thomas and Burgess had worked out better - I liked both those signings and thought we'd be way more intimidating to the opposing QB then we are.If you can get a fierce three man rush like the Saints did to us today and then drop the rest back in coverage you're going to beat a lot of teams. -

Wilhite is awful but he is not the only problem on this defense. Bodden got picked on all game. Thomas and Burrgess are busts. Mayo didn't have a great game. Wilfork is the only player on the d-line that can make plays.
Belichick going for it on 4th and 2 is understandable with the d the pats have.
