    Win Streak That Really Counts?

10-game Postseason winning streak from 2001-2005.

That included 2 wins over the Colts, 2 wins over the Steelers.  Pats won 3 Lombardi trophies over that win streak.

Let the Colts have their regular-season win streak, but the Pats have the streak that counts the most.

There was a 21-game win streak that actually went on during that 10-game streak.

That's a streak that I don't see any team matching or beating.

Somehow the Colts streak will be seen as superior, even tho playoff losses really interuppted it

First off,  I think both Indy and NO will finish the season 16-0.  With that being said, how special is being undefeated anymore.  The big deal will be the 19-0 record and as soon as a team accomplishes that record another team will.  Who would have thought that just 2yrs later they would be another 16-0 season by a team let alone 2 teams.  I dont think its that special anymore.  Its actully becoming like college football.  Soon enough we will begin to see more teams do it.  Just find comfort in knowing that the Pats did it first.

patsfaninsatx...   having possibly TWO undefeated teams this year also puts a BIG hole in the "parity" theme for the NFL.  No such thing, especially this year when there are so many REALLY bad teams!  The Saints 13 - 0 record is built on the 3rd easiest NFL schedule this year while the Colts are struggling with the 13th (based on the Sagarin ratings).  No quite on par with the 1972 Dolphins who only played 2 teams in the regular season with winning records, a common denominator in arguments about just how good that Dolphins team was.  Regardless, most do agree the 16 - 0 season of the Pats of 2007 may not be equaled for the manner in which they defeated teams.  The Colts have now needed 7 come from behind wins in the 4th quarter to eek out half their wins while the Saints have had it easier.  In the end, all folks will see are the Ws and the Ls, the "rest of the story' doesn't carry much weight!
