The thought of this stings a little, however .....Mario Manningham?
I saw his name listed in a top 100 free agents...wondered if anyone would consider this move?

Let's see, Ocho Stinko or Manningham. Hmmmmmm. Tough one, but I'll go with the guy that can actually play. -

That catch in the SB means someone will overpay for him (see 49ers). BB won't overpay for a WR he thought little of compared to the other guys on the team -

Posted by wiggy26I agree, he's too fast and catches the ball too easily. -

I think Manningham would be a great fit in NE. He's young, fast, proven in a big market, catches the ball well, has some down field/big play ability, but also has some RAC ability and would fit in well with what NE does today.
I don't think they need a pure #1 WR, so much as they could benefit from some perimeter speed, play making ability to offset Gronk/Welker/Hernandez etc.
Passing on him because he made a catch against NE is ridiculous. -

Agreed. I wouldn't see him being a no. 1 guy but feel he could offer us speed and draw guys downfield....not sure what ocho is doing for us over a guy like Manningham.
I'd be happy if pats pursue this....do I think they will? no. -

For the right money, absolutely.
Tyree part 2? Hardly, he's fairly proven already.
It'd be more like what Stallworth or Gaffney provided while they were here: a 2nd or 3rd WR who can stretch the field and make plays. Not someone who will whine about getting the ball enough, or think he deserves top money.
In some ways, I prefer a playe rlike him to Vincent Jackson.
And why wouldn't you want him as a Pats fan?
1) He could never again torch US
2) So, if someone plays well against the Pats, we never sign him? THat's a v ery odd way to think, and if BB felt that way, Welker would NEVER have been on this team. -

No.
Manningham was targeted by BB because he made a dumb play earlier. He was wide open but he had strayed too near the sidelines. When the ball came to him he stepped out and the pass was incomplete.
I agree that because he caught one perfect pass in the Super Bowl he'll be overpaid.
