Problem is how would O'brien take this?

How long would you expect CW to Stay once he has been a HC somewhere?  Say the Bill's (first team this year so far looking for a HC) wanted him on board, I think he takes it.

Coming in as a consultant makes everything a lot cleaner.

I agree he will look at all head coaching options if they are available, but if none are,its strange how the pats have left the OC position open since weiss left.
rumor has it.he could join the pats on there stretch run.

moss, the Pats also kept the OC position empty after Weis left in 2005.

At the time McDaniels was the QB coach and ran the offense w/o the OC title and then was promoted to OC. Sound familiar?

Does this mean that Weis would not come back, no & I have no clue where he will land, but this is not the first time during BB tenure that they decided to not have an OC.

Weis is not good on college kids.  His skill set is being a good offensive coordinator, at which time his weaknesses are covered by other coaches.

Crennel is morbidly obese.  He needs to live.  After he gets a balloon in his stomach for 6 months he'll be a good defensive coordinator.  Don't overload him with responsibilities, just give him a "part-time" (less than 80 hours a week) coaching position until he's healthy.  Again, he apparently lacks a few head-coaching skills.

Josh McDaniels is never coming back.  He had the courage to kick Jay Cutler out, at a profit, the courage to hang on to his whiner wide receiver, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Re: would the pats bring back weis,or crennel if they are available?would they want to return?

Not really moss - after Charlie Weis left the team following the 2004 season, the Patriots did not name an offensive coordinator for the 2005 season.

McDaniels called the offensive plays for the 2005 season. After the season, McDaniels was officially promoted to offensive coordinator.

So the Pats had an OC in 2006 & 2007 (McDaniels). And now that he left, they seem to be repeating the process.

BB is always involved, but Josh was the OC for 2 full years, and shared the reponsibility with BB during the 2005 season.

more, and more rumors about weiss.now we need to hear the crennel rumors. for the pats could use them.this thing with him going to the colts.i dont buy unless its a head coaching position, and i dont see that happening.if its for the OC position i would think the pats, and cheifs are the two targets.

C'mon Bobby, break out the wallet!  We could have Charlie in before the playoffs and the team wouldn't miss a beat.  Our personel has never been better, Weis never had so many options and Brady is his boy...  he will kill it with Welker and Edelman in the slot with Randy out there.

Hey, Mangini might also be available soon as well.  Any thought of bringing him back? He would do very well as a tackle dummy.

Yes- would like to see Weiss and Crennell back. But think it's probably a long shot for both- and maybe even one. We have not had the kind of creative play calling and magnifying of talent since Weiss left- and I can only imgaine what he could do with Moss and Welker.

When Belichick was fired at Cleveland, he went back to work with Bill Parcels. I bet one of these guys ends up back in New England. If for no other reason than to rebuild a resume to get another shot as a NFL head coach. Also, Belichick trusts these guys. That's a big deal with Bill.
