We have all read and posted here about the pats WR group and are they capable of making that year 2 progression. We have all opined to the thought that Dobson may have a 1000 yard season or the Pats need a first round draft choice WR. And most everything in between.
what about the other year 2 players?
-the team seems to be banking on Collins not only starting, but at this early stage playing 3 downs. Collins came on very late in the season, but is he capable of making this huge jump to starter and playing every down? IMO the team is taking a big risk not finding another LB that can play ( not Beauharnais)
-We all loved what we saw from Logan Ryan last season. Is he ready to play major snaps at CB? I don't think he is. Opposite Revis, he will be thrown at, a lot. I prefer Ryan to continue to be eased in and while his snaps count should go up, I don't want to see him regress and lose confidence. He is a step slow, and his game seems to be based on taking a gamble. Injuries and sub defense should allow him time to get snaps at CB as well as slot CB and he could be ready year 3 if Revis bolts.
-Ryan Allen if he maintains on last years performance is knocking on the pro bowl IMO.
-Buchanon I am told has put on much needed weight, so let's hope he has not lost any speed. If he can force his way into 25% of the snaps this would be huge for the Pats. IMO Buchanons hurdles are with the mental part of this defense, not the physical. If he can better grasp what the staff wants from him, he could take a big step.
-Kline would not surprise me if he moved into a position to battle for starters snaps. Connolly's cap hit and Wendell's structured contract leave the door open for Kline to walk thru, will be interesting this summer to see if he can take that step
