Friday, 8/31 Game vs. Oakland As
posted at 8/31/2012 6:23 PM EDT
Well, just like last night, there are no comments allowed for the game tonight. So I figured I would try to start a thread here as was suggested. Hopefully some of the regulars will show up. (Except you-know-who the you-know-what.)
And let me be the first to say- I hate, hate, HATE this new format. -

RHP Aaron Cook (3-7, 4.76) vs. RHP Brandon McCarthy (7-5, 3.12), 10:05 p.m

I have a feeling that with the late night start from the West Coast, coupled with the usual message board being down, this is going to be an all-time low for the in-game discussions tonight.

@george hd- yeah, this format is for the birds-can't wait for the old comment board to reappear-thought something was wrong with my computer.
I hate these west coast swings. I can't stay awake for the 10 pm games. At least there'll be some 4 oclockers tomorrow and Sun -

Problem is that once the old board returns, it won't be the old board. There is a format change, and it is returning as something like this one.

For some reason, this board won't let you post an apostrophe. And even better, try answering this question and see if you can post it...
When the batter strikes the ball, it lands in fair territory, and the batter makes it to First Base before the throw, that is known as a base __________ ? -

Awe, c'mon Ken. Think of how much fun it's going to be to find out all the words the Globe won't let us post in this wonderful new format. :-)
(And what the heck is wrong with an apostrohe anyway?) -

Why are they running stiffs like Cook out there, again? He hasn't got diddly, and some guy from Portland could be getting his feet wet. -

Cook is toast. 4 straight hits and it's 4 zippy. This team's pitching is appalingly bad. -

i thought the old format was close to the bottom; this new format proves the bottom has a cellar.
but it's free (so far) and worth every penny. -

This team absolutely is atrocious. I cannot wait until this season is over. I am glad for my 49ers who are suppose to be up and coming. I have been so disgusted that I even tried to cancel my MLB Package but there was no gain to get out of it. If this team does not do anything to improve in the off season, I am not wasting my money on the MLB Package for next year. -
