That's basically what I said on another thread. 2 games are important but there is plenty of time for this team to click and go on a hot streak. Maybe by this time next week they will be on that hot streak. The season is far from over.

WE'LL PRINT THIS IN RED BECAUSE WE NEED A RED ALERT
FOR THE RED SOX. A DEPRESSING THREE GAME BLOWOUT IN
ARLINGTON...AND THE SAD THING WAS THAT AFTER THE
MIDDLE INNINGS, THE SOX WERE IN OVER THEIR HEADS IN
THIS SERIES. THEY JUST CAN'T SCORE AND HIT THE THREE
RUN DINGER. ONLY PAPI CAN HIT THE LONG BALL. THE OTHER
GUYS ARE PITIFUL. SALTALAMACCHIA IS A DREADFUL HITTER.
SCUTARO, LOWRIE, CRAWFORD, ELLSBURY, DUSTIN....ALL OF
THEM CAN'T HIT THE LONG BALL WHEN IT COUNTS. LET'S ALSO
ADD DREW TO THE MIX. OUR THREE BEST PITCHERS GOT
WHACKED AND ONLY PAPELBON SHOWED A GLIMMER OF HOPE.

I love it. Firts it was "it's only spring training" and now it's "it's only the first 3 games"....

As Yogi once said, "It gets late early around here"

I believe many rose gcolored glassed won't agree its 'too late' until they go 0-70 and technically that's correct.

I need a little better perfomance than that though!

    1. subscribe to mlb something. mlb.tv is a great deal.

    1. Lose the "entitlement" thing. The sox have been bad ALOT more than good, but you'd have to go back more than 10 years if that's possible these days( not very ESPNTMZ)

1.realize there are other teams in the sport to follow. Be a fan of the sport.

    1. watch other teams- the NL can be pretty interesting.

It might be too early to panic, but it is DEFINITELY not too early to be concerned. Anyone who thinks otherwise is burying their head in the sand.  Hopefully they pick it up.... but they look like garbage right now and the starting pitching is putrid.

Disagree; they're just not winning 120 games, as some here predicted.

Last I looked Philladelphia is on the East Coast. With Teixeira it was money that talks and we went under what the Yankees offered. He would have made a difference in 2009 for this team. Bay was not a bad player either for our team.

[QUOTE]Lee was not going to sign with an east coast team so that was out. Just like saying we didn't get goofy(tek) as his wife wanted Ny. That did work out for the sox as they ended up with a better player at first. In Response to Re: 1 & 7......... IS IT TOO EARLY....... :

Maybe the Sox play 39 - 33 ball and end up  41 - 41 at the halfway mark.

Maybe that is what they are.

[QUOTE]I like to be optimistic but at this point 8 games into season, one well pitched game which is wicked scary. The other scary part is that we are stuck with Beckett and Lackey for 4 more years each. Becketts velocity is down. I remember when he came here in 2006, he threw at 97 MPH, now he is down to 92 that is 5 MPH down. Lackey is a West Coast pitcher good enough for the Western Division, not a good fit for the American League East. Matsusaka throws 110 pitches by the 5th inning, Clay Bucholtz has a good year offset by a bad year. The only bonafide starter is Lester. This team needed Cliff Lee more than Crawford but what do you do with Beckett, Lackey, Wakefield, and Matsusaka. A lot of nothing here spells a long year. This team is the worst team money can buy.

It is early, but bothersome.  If we win the next six series 2-1, we are then at .500 after 26 games.  Any series we lose, then keeps teh Sox just treading water trying to get to .500.  The team has dugged enough of a hole.  Time for this great team to start winning regularly, now!
