    2012

Anyone who thinks they can bring back this team without some major changes needs their head shrunk.

I don't care how well liked a player is, if the can't do the job, they need to go.

We need major changes at Short Stop, right Field, 3rd base, starting pitching, DH, and the bench.

Oh, I forgot, Francona needs to go!!!!!!!!! bring in someone who isn't the players buddy!!!!!!

Wakefield should never have gotten so many chance to win his 200th..

    Re: 2012

Changes need to be made but you are off base a bit. What was wrong with Scutaro the last 2 seasons at SS? He hit .275 last year and .299 this year. And DH? you think you can find better numbers for a DH then what Ortiz put up this year? They need a good defensive RF who is a quality bat from the right side of the plate. If they dont trade Youk, he is still an above avg 3B. There REAL problem is the rotation. You can rebuild a bullpen every year, but a rotation that is stuck with long contracts for underperforming arms is hard to fix.

    Re: 2012

    Wakefield: Gone
    Drew: Gone
    DMAC: Gone
    Paplebon: Gone
Papi: Back unless he wants crazy money and/or years.
    Wheeler: Gone
Scutaro: Back unless they can sign Reyes
    Albers: Gone
    Reddick: AAA
    Aviles: Back
TeK: Gone.  Can get a cheaper backup and what did he really do for the pitching staff?
Youkilis: Trade if possible.  Getting old fast.
Miller: Hope for a miracle.  Probably gone.
Weiland: Minors, never to be heard from again.
    Tito: Gone
    Theo: Gone

    99% agree.

Papi needs to go...   Yes,  I know he had .300  30  100,   But,  he clogs up the DH position when it needs to be a revolving door for multiple players to get a needed rest from playing the field.  Done.  Move on.

The Red Sox need to develop the farm system because Boston might not be a coveted destination for top free agents (unless the Sox are willing to significantly overpay).

Yes they have went away from their strength which used to be building from within....the fact they they DO over pay makes then a coveted destination for FA.

Doesn't matter, the world's going to end next year, anyway.

Though we'd have, what, a month and a half to savor the World Series championship?
