With a $150 million payroll they are on par with the angels, tigers, jays and rangers salary wise but nowhere near those teams talant wise. This is just a sad situation they managed to wiggle themselves into.

This is a very sad the situation the clown has wiggled himself into.

    softlaw2's comment:

I post on many sites. Before the Red Sox can change the loser culture of massive payrolls in zero playoff wins, a change in management will be required. My job is to thin out the massive herd of quiet sheep getting fleeced. "Angry" is a word from the left, which goes like this:

    "Angry old white guy"

Needless to say, pie in the sky is big seller. Reality may not be plreasant, but delusion isn't healthy on a personal or financial level.

I've succeeded in awakening a few sheep, but it's not enough. Management still has a doting sheep herd that is supportive or quiet about  the FA signings, and they are not outraged by 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. This allows the nonsense of passing off Dumpster, Shane and Drew and 36 million dollars for 2013 as a "viable professional product plan for 2013 150 million plus labor budget".

This thread shows just how many sheep there are.

I love the smell of asphalt in the morning.

As far as sheep are concerned:

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death (or through the darkest valley),
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

    In response to BurritoT-'s comment:

softlaw oughta just be talking about what the team can do to win in the play-offs and simply admit he made some mistakes..... or wrong predictions. Then this winter he can go back and harp on Drew, Dempster, and some other players (not Wakefield hopefully).

Example: I wish to this day we never signed Lackey, I don't like him. But after what he has done this year and the fact his contract is not far from over... good to have him here now an most likely 2014. I don't want to keep repeating how much I dislike the deal and the pitcher himself any longer. He is at present part of the winning formula.

I am glad softy is back... but when you're dead wrong you are dead wrong... may as well stop beating things to death - especially when things are going along so grand.

softlaw tell us how we can best win this thing this year...  with what we have. Time to be positive.

i would love to see him do this. But then again. that is something mature, rational, non-egocentric person would. Softlaw is none of the above.

First he gave Larry credit for all the good moves that happened while Theo was the GM, and now he blames Ben for the bad moves Theo made. Yet, somehow, Theo was still to blame.

I'm getting dizzy trying to keep track of this crazy clown circle jerk.

    Ben didn't want Bobby V.

IMO, this wasn't really Ben's team until the Dodger trade.

When I workd in Lower Manhattan, I'd pop into Trinity Church once in a while to read that.  The place was dark, fairly unpopulated, and quiet.  Outside was bright, crowded and noisy.  I have no idea why people, even if they aren't religious, don't avail themselves of a few minutes of quiet meditation in the midst of all this noise and distraction.
