    2nd half,.611 or.679

Obviously we know the Sox are 55-35, a .611 pace.

But if the 2-10 start is not applied to the second half, the pace jumps to .679.

That would lead to 103 wins.

    What's your take?

I submit that somewhere between .611 and .679 will turn out to be a terrific 2nd half.

This season will be unpredictable. With the current pitching injuries I cannot pencil us in for 100 wins confidentally. With our deep offense I cannot pencil us in for less thatn 96 confidentally. I expect the team to finish around 98 wins, pitching health could raise that, lack of could lower it.

I have stuck with 96 wins since during the 0-6 start.  Would love to see more than that.

Giving some slack for those losing streaks that can happen.

    Go Sox !

    Over/under .... heck I don't know what I'm talking about...

Your  post is sensible ... I always get nervous speaking about 100 wins, because it is such a rarity.  But I cannot see, barring major injuries, this team winning less than 96.  That 98 is a comfortable number.  But it's not much of a swing either way.

And if you take out the 35 games they lost the pace jumps to 1.000.

My take is that I'd be thrilled if the Sox played at a .611 pace the rest of the season.  That works out to 99 wins.

So, are the Sox closer to the 2-10 (.167) start or the 53-25 (.679) since?

I think they are closer to the .611 team that they are.

And if you never posted here again, it would almost be the same.

But since neither is going to happen, I'll be glad to live with the outcome in reality.

Madam, may it be as you wish.  As long as the NYucks win - as Tcal so aptly put - at least one less.

We're gonna have a great 2nd half, too.

Oh, I don't think anyone on the Sox will hit .380 in the second half.  At least not more than 1 or 2 players.

    3 tops...
