On a positive note--both Beckett and Lowrie are doing well.

How many aces are in this deck, anyway?

Great minds think alike. I'd take any rotation with lester as #2 and Clay as #3.

Lester is a notorious slow starter. If Jon and Buch pitch well an Beckett is "an ace again", I like where we are.

Beckett returning to ace-like status might be the best thing that can happen to this team. Huge cause for optimism.

Now let's try to get through the rest of the rotation...

You hit the nail on the head...

If we were stuck with 2010 Beckett on top of Lackey and Dice-K then there'd be some serious problems.  Buchholz will turn things around.  His stuff is there he just has to shake of the rust and locate better.  Assuming he bounces back, that's a pretty damn good 1-3.

It depends upon whether Beckett completes a full season as an Ace, meaning top 2 or 3 in Cy Young voting. If so, yes.

Tom ... your avatar is fairlyt exciting.

    As is your post.

Beck's being back is exacatly what we'll need for the long haul.  I'll take it.  It can't help but bolster the confidence in the Sox club house.  It is the perfect time for him to put the super hero costum on again.  At least this time, he will have a "League of Heroes" on the mound to help him.  Jon L and Clay will certainly be there with him and J. Lackey will indeed add his step as well - in time.  It remains to be seen if Dice-K will be the Prince of Pitching and help or slip into just being a clown prince ....  But I select the first ....

Three strong starts out of five each time ... and occasionally the L-Man and Dice-K will add to that.

I'm gone for now.  Have a great one, every one!
