whats everyones feeling about inter-league play?? mine are mixed, nice to see some other teams, players, parks; dont like losing the DH
    Posted by J-BAY
its one of bud's greatest moves! love seeeing the different players, teams, systems. always a good thing. no downside. even watching guys like wake get  their cuts in is good. makes the al have less of a disadvantage come the world series. baseball may want to just have the dh everywhere! javing the pitchers hit is a waste of everyones time!

btw, drew sutton may turn out to be a better player than lowrie, even at hitting (from both sides). lets get reyes and TRADE lowrie with drew as your all-purpose backup!

I don't mind interleague so much as it is now. But this ridiculous idea of Jim Bowden's (as I have heard and understand it anyway) about taking away all divisions and playing under two leagues where you play every team from the other leauge three times and the top 5 make the playoffs? I HATE it. Picking the top 5 is not bad, but just add a one game playoff to what we have now for 4 & 5 to play in. Bowden is a clown to begin with, and I don't know if this is his idea originally or not, but it stinks. Just imagine, no more American League East. Unfathomable! And also consider that it'd be 15 games in NL parks w/o the DH, instead of just 9. Surely the powers that be in MLB will not take things that far.

Is Ellsbury doing the "reverse pivot" swing and girlie throw tonight or is Softy out for the night?

In the end Lackey gives us a QS. People don't realize where he doesn't always dominate, a health Lackey gives us a chance to win night in and night out and saves the pen.

    Yes, sir!

Fortunately there's a few three or four minute openings at the start so I can pay attention.... as things mix and have floor time.

After a word of prayer for the night's production and thanks, of I go!

    Great night so FAR!!!!

I think bud the selig should contract some of the deadbeat ML teams that are mere AAA and low market---that way guys  like Capt Jeter wouldn't be getting 3000 hits

Re: 6/17 Game Thread: Marcum vs. Lackey

I think the problem people have with Lackey is simply his salary. He's playing the role of a #4 starter just as he should, and even better. People think that because he got the big contract he should pitch like a #1. While that would be great to see, we don't NEED him to do that to win the championship--we just need him to keep doing what he did tonight. I don't have a problem with Lackey as long as he does this. I don't care what any of these guys make anyway, as long as all the parts add up to wins.
