Re: 6/21 Game Thread: Latos vs. Aceves

If Sox win today, and Phillies lose, Sox move to the best record in majors.

Sox started day 1/2 game behind Phillies.  Phillies trail Cards 0-1 in 7th.

If it doesn't happen today, it is bound to happen sometime soon.  Considering the 3rd best record in majors in Yankees is also in AL East, that's pretty impressive what Sox has been able to do, especially after a 0-6 and 2-12 start.

Rizzo facing Bard, with bases loaded, in a tie ball game in the 7th...  who would've thunk.

    And Rizzo delivers the RBI.

I hope Ells getting caught stealing 2nd in the last inning is not going to prove too costly, could have been Sox's 5th run when AGonz brought Scut home.

Have lot a faith in Sox batting to deliver with a third of innings left, although Padres BP is supposed to be one of best.

Need to come back again, now.  Would have liked to see Bard in there after the first hit.

Looks like Salty's bat would not pass the George Brett test.

6 more outs to give, to score 2 runs to take this game.  Another 6 run 8th would be great.

I think he may actually have gotten a pitch he liked.  Marco more than anyone (except maybe Pedey) takes first pitch strikes as a rule (and often second pitch strikes).  Once in a while you have to be less predictable, no?

Sox outhitting the Friars 2-1, and still trailing by 1.

Kind of opposite of yesterday, when both teams had about same hits, yet Sox outscored 14-5.

In case anybody else was curious like myself:

According to an interview with Bill Center, from the San Diego Union-Tribune published on July 13, 2008, Nick is not related to former Major League Baseball catchers Randy and Todd Hundley (who are father and son). Nick's father is Tim Hundley, an assistant football coach at UCLA.
