Re: 6/25 Game Thread: Wakefield vs. Karstens:
Honestly, what is Scutaro thinking. Look at a couple of pitches, but swinging at the first pitch? And where the heck was Ortiz? Isn't that the situation where you want him to pinch hit?
Posted by ADG
Who's gonna play SS when you take Scutaro out? Sutton? You'd actually be wasting three players in that situation, and Ortiz would have to hit a long extra base hit to even tie the game. The best approach would have been a better at bat by Scutaro. Second time he's done that tonight. Then Ortiz would go in after Scutaro.

Just got home from work to see us down 6-4..Reddick went deep and hit a solid rope off a lefty? I dont think there should be any question now who should be playing rightfield..Am I wrong?

And so he will probably pinch hit for the pitcher in the 9th and if he gets on base, he get's pinch run for Sutton, and thus you are in the same situation except Ortiz gets to hit with the bases empty.

Beat his AB last night when he took three straight strikes. I'd rather see him go after a first pitch FB than that.

Sorry your meal didn't turn out so well. You should buy fresher ingredients.

Thank you Terry for having Ortiz pinch hit with no one on base instead of with 2 runners last inning.

What happened to all those 6 and 7 runs innings for Sox. Now scoring them in 9 innings is becoming a stretch against the likes of San Diego and Pittsburgh.

Francona will be gone if they do not make the playoffs. Where was Ortiz in the 8th instead of Marco. You had the opp. to use him in a situation where he can be the lead run. Also, he has burned Bard for Sunday when he is trailing by 2 runs in the 8th. Remember he used wheeler in a tie game in the 7th against Padres instead of Bard. That game started this slide.
Francoma is gone if they don't make the playoffs. Thank God

Oh, the meal was fantastic. My timing, on the other hand, was no good at all.

Pretty obvious that the N.L. is no longer a push over for A.L. teams.

If pedey walks, Gonzalez will represent the tying run...
EDIT: or, you know, gets a hit.

All right, when do we play the Yankees next?
We need a few easy wins to get back on track.
