Farthest thing from it. I'm the guy who stays til the buzzer sounds in a 30 pt blowout, or til the final out in a 15-0 drubbing, because, you know, just if something happened, you'd want to be able to say you were there! It drives my family and friends nuts when they want to get a headstart on traffic. Now, I'm also that guy who always sits through the credits in every movie just so he doesn't miss anything... so maybe it's a fundamental, non-sports-related personality trait.

You're even more of a soldier than me, although I once stayed for 19 innings of a Red Sox game that reached curfew and had to take a cab home after the T closed. I returned the next day to watch the Sox lose in the 20th and go on to lose the regularly scheduled game afterward. Had to pay separate admission, of course.

I wish I had something like that on my fan record. I really can't recall every attending a game in any sport with any appreciable amount of extra frames.
I did
leave a Sox/Yankees game (that I had luxury box seats to) early, to see about a girl, although I don't consider that "quitting". Just... prioritizing.

Ok, Reddick and Scutaro are going to reach, and Wake is going to tie this one up himself.
What... what do you mean they're not going to let him bat?

Actually, it wasn't pretty. It was the latter portion of a strike interrupted season, and the game didn't go extras because of any intensity on the players' part for either team. So many people cleared out that I ended up behind the Sox dugout sitting next to two baseball Shirleys who were relaying messages to the players through the batboy. Apparently, the game didn't seem to be foremost on their minds, especially for Rich Gedman.

The ball really jumps off of Reddick's bat.

This kid had better be in the line up tomorrow regardless of who is pitching.

Reddick with a blast!! Let the kid play even when Carl comes off the DL. Unlike the other three (Cam, Drew and DMac), he's hitting the ball with some authority.

I understand the L-R-L, but francona needs to play the best players and hot hand. the up and down isn't working, they need to play consistently
