Its amazing how he knows just to flick out to left, with the Padres he would never think of doing that in Petco. He's also obviously wearing off on Papi lately.

[QUOTE]Salty is showing steady improvement. He could turn out to be an asset.

Salty has been looking good from both sides of the plate and has been more than adequate as a backstop after a shaky start.  That throw to nail Matsui on the stikeout yesterday was huge.  Maybe this really will be the year he starts realizing his "potential."

If Salty could go around .270 20HR 70RBI I would be very very happy and in this line-up it is totally possible.

Lackey just can't get that 1-2-3 inning.

I hate the shift, its borderline bush-league. If you cant get the guys out playing at least in the reasonable defensive positions than that's your problem.

The best part is Papi has been killing the shift this year.

Lowrie has been consistently lowering his avg. I think he needs to change something or needs to be moved lower in the line-up. Even Salty looks better at the plate then Jed does.

You just have to hit 'em where they ain't, as they say.  The shift was used against Teddy Ballgame, too.

Why isn't Crawford trying to steal and why is Cameron even on this team still?

Just noticed that Lackey is at 82 pitches.  Would sure be nice if he could have an easy sixth and at least start the seventh.

The shift is just smart defense. It can be frustrating but you have to deal with it. Papi's hits to the opposite field are usually in the air. When he hits it on the ground, it is almost always to the right side.

If we're leading in the ninth, will Bard be the closer?

@joel that is one easy out, but Albers is already warming and you know Tito has to put the reliever in if he is already warmed up...

Not much you can do with Cameron except hope that he comes around. He might well be washed up. There is no trade market for him at this time.

Freediro, apparently Terry has stated that Lackey would be limited to ninety pitches.  Give him a hand.  He did his job today.

Knowing his problem with runners in scoring position and 2 outs I agree with Tito pulling him here.
