In Response to Re: 7/27 Game Thread: Chen vs. Lackey : Hard to figure Tito's reasoning there.  Youkilis plays , so then Reddick suddenly needs the day off?   All I can think is that they are showcasing Navarro for a possible trade.
    Posted by dgalehouse
It may be they are showcasing Navarro, but it may be more than that as well.  They need to see if he can play outfield in the majors.  Since they are looking for a RH hitting OF, might as well see if he can fit the bill.  If he can't play OF, there isn't much place for him in the organization with Youkilis, Iglesias, Pedroia and Lowrie for the next few years and Middlebrooks in the near future.  So, like I said, could be a combination of the two.

Wow, never thought Scoots had a chance.  Nicely done on both ends.

Not sure that he is entirely sincere in some of his posts. I think he actually enjoys provoking and pushing people's buttons just to see what the reaction will be.

Lackey settling down. Good to see. We could really use seven or eight innings from him tonight.

From the first time I saw him, I've always thought Scutaro looked like a heavy in a 1930's kind of gangland Chicago mob movie. Him and Matt Garza should both be cast as goofy yet efficient enforcers. The white tie, the fedora, .45 auto, the works. Somebody call Quentin Tarantino and set it up.

Nice to see Lacky seems to have settled in - 7 in a row.  Our bullpen could certainly use a break tonight.  Now, here's hoping we can get 3 or 4 more on the board.  GO SOX!

It was the Sarge's "pep talk" after the first inning, guys.

well, i kinda get the Jed bashing a little - even if he is a good ball player what difference does it make if he can't stay healthy - regardless of the reasons

Is Darnell McDonald starting to revert to his 2010 self? There's your right handed raking OF if he does! That'd be perfect.

I am going to go out on a limb here but I think Navarro is the kind of player that the Giants would like.  Does he remind anyone else of Juan Uribe?

MacD is far too inconsistent to get excited about

Let him keep his limited role but that's about it

Nice start Joel! But the more I think about it, the more I think they'd fit in in a mob comedy--something like "Oscar".

Talking about Power & Speed, I think only 2 guys have ever had 20+ HR's and 80 SB's in the same season

If Ells was stealing like he used he'd be the 3rd

"Garbage man" came from an idiotic thread that was started the other night when Scut messed up the squeeze.  The title was "Scutaro is garbage."
