    As good as AGon has been, he has grounded into 19 double plays.  I think it would have been good to start the runners.

    On July 3, 1952 the Red Sox signed amateur free agent pitcher Arnold Earley who made his major league debut with the Red Sox in 1960 appearing in  two games (4 innings) on the season.  Following the 1965 season he was traded to the Atlanta Braves, then flipped him to the Chicago Cubs.  Earley appeared in 208 games over his Red Sox career going 10-19 with a 4.45 ERA.  He pitched one year for the Cubs and completed his career with today’s opponent, the Houston Astros in 1967.

    The Red Sox have hit into seven double plays in the Houston series, including three today.
