Marco is hurt now.  Those who proclaim him a "bust" must be rejoicing.

All this about Bucholz brings up another issue. Why is it that it seems like so many Red Sox injuries get "mis-diagnosed", or missed in some other way? It took them half the season to figure out what was wrong with Ellsbury last year. And like so many others have posted, it always ends up being a little different, and a lot worse than what we were first told.

Hard to say. I'm certainly not qualified to criticize the Sox medical staff, but there have been some strange events.   The progression of Sox injuries often goes from mild to bad to worse.

He probably was stunned because of his .130 average with runners in scoring position and he came through tonight!  Im  a bit light headed myself.

Scutaro leaves with "dizziness". For now "he'll be back tommorow". Tommorow he still won't feel right and Tito will say he needs a couple more days. By next week we'll be talking about an inner ear infection "being treated with antibiotics". Then, he'll be disabled because the infection isn't responding to treatment. Fifteen days from now an MRI will be scheduled. After another 10 days and two other DR's opinions, it will come out that he has a benign tumor, needs surgery, and will miss the rest of the season.

When Lowrie returns, I imagine that Sutton will go back down.  Then it seems that Aviles would have to be able to play the outfield in a pinch. McDonald would be the only back up outfielder. After Sept.1, the rosters expand and it would no longer be an issue.

This Josh Tomlin is flirting with disaster.  How many times have RS hitters reached the Triangle in the last week or two only to fall short.  Not that it has effected the outcome of games.  Fenway giveth and taketh away, I guess.

this is where Lackey has seemed to hit a wall (in past situations)...if he can get through this inning and not give up this run I'd be very happy....very

A stess fracture in the lumbar region is often very to diagnose. Sometimes X-rays, cat-scans, MRI-s aren't able to detect it. In retrospect about Ellsbury aren't you glad that they didn't ruin him last year by playing him too early. If you want to talk about a bad medical team then read about the Mets.
