hey, did you guys see that Jered Weaver got 6 games for that incident against the Tiggers?..
    Posted by jete02fan
Not surprised it is only one start. Jered has a lot more talent than his older brother but those boys both spent too much time in the sun without their caps on.

Cleveland hitters seem to match up very well with Sox pitching.  Having some very comfortable at-bats the last two nights.

Yeah, that's just to make sure he misses at least one start though.

Assdrubal is a pain in the assdrubal. Good player, wish he was ours. Is it me or does Travis Hafner look like he "puffed" back up?

Weaver had to do it.  One start only.

Now that you mentioned it, yeah, he does look like his old Pronk self again. Striking fear in our hearts again, but not this time. Grab some pine Pronk.

    Posted by fivekatz
hey 5K, i'm starting to wonder, is it basically standard pratice that they seem to only penalize the pitchers for what always seems to be just one start?...though they mostly get shaved down, just imagine if one of your postion guys got 6 games at a time like this..

We've got to make this guy pay for this high pitch count.

    Posted by jete02fan
Yeah it seems to be the way. More than one start is such a high percentage of their season. Let's say Ortiz and a starter have an altercation. If you suspend Ortiz 3 games assuming he'll play in 155 that's 2% of his season. To get the same affect on the starting pitcher you need to suspend him for 15 games. Those 3 games are just under 10% of his season assuming 32 starts. So it is just not very often you see a pitcher get hit for more than one start, even if others are getting hit for more.

The idea of doing 6 is so when the pitcher appeals, the can reduce it one and do it the day after he starts I think. Because warnings were issued because the umpires saw this coming I don't think there will be much of chance of extreme reduction for Weaver.

It's uncanny. Seems that almost every time Beckett pitches, we have trouble scoring.

    Posted by TheExaminer
Sometimes that is just getting in the bullpen early enough to avoid the better guys at the end of it.

A lot of good left handed hitters. Doing damage in this series.

Chicago White Sox undercahieving like they usually do letting the Yankees use them as toilet paper. I still cannot believe that they do not fire Guillen. With the talent level they have on that team and they consistently underachieve every year except for 2005.

Josh you cannot let guys with 3 home runs hit home runs off you. Another breaking ball right over the plate, like last night amazing.

Someone send the Sox a memo. Don't have to come out flat in every month that happens to start with the letter "A".
