Jackson looked completely lost on that play.  Fortunately , Ellsbury was able to get there.

Aviles can hit all the HR he wants, but he's gonna kill Adrian Gonzalez with his throws.

Well, Albers looked respectable for a change, at least we had that today.

Tito has also given up..by his bringing in Miller (opponents bat over .300 against him)...allowing those 2 runs were the white flag

2 game lead with 10 to play... If the Sox win 5, they'll be fine.

Don´t see them getting those 5 wins, though.

Surprised that Tito did not hit Reddick for DMac against the righty.

Oh good, Bowden is warming up

I am so glad we didn't trade him for Miguel Montero

Joel Peralta has been particularly tough against lefthanded hitters this season:

btw, i think the sox looked like they were the ones who thought that they had won the WS on friday night

    but i can't blame them

winning a game from the Rays is about as rare as winning a WS

The Tampa Bay radio announcer chided the "so-called greatest fans" for emptying Fenway Park after the Rays' two runs in the seventh inning.

At least the park was full to start the game (unlike many games at Tropicana Field).

another double by Ells, but Tito, still in a coma, doesn't recognize that he IS the red sox power source, and elects to put him in the 1 hole where nobody is on to drive home.....

Re: 9/18 Game Thread Price vs. Wakefield

Looking for something positive in the last 2 games I notice that we got more hits yet today were outscored by 3 runs...it's called walks, errors, stolen bases & "clutch hitting" ! I'm happy, at least, they got the 2 extra runs as I'd have felt, irrespective of a loss being a loss, more depressed losing 6-5 instead of 8-5. And the Rays didn't have their star closer, Farnsworth.

Can anyone enlighten me with some info that can lead me to be more positive that we, at least, can manage a split on Monday vs. the Balts !!!

Sox choked their way to 6 losses out of 7 to the Rays in the last 8 days. They don't deserve the post-season even if, by some chance, they make it. Wait 'til next year.

This is getting interesting. So much for the MLB critics who on Sept. 1 said "Whats baseball going to do ? All the intrigue is over." No so fast. Now whats a Red Sox fan to do ? Root Root for the Yankees or bite the bullet and continue with 100+ years of tradition and hope the Yankees fail and fail miserably?  A very good week of Baseball lays ahead.
