[QUOTE]Meanwhile, we can't get a hit off Burnoutt, the human batting tee. Superlatives are failing me to describe this team. I have never seen this from any team that I've ever supported in any sport. NOTHING wakes them up, NOTHING motivates them, NOTHING makes them play like they actually care about not being in the top 5 chokes of all time. Do you guys realize that a 5-23 September is not out of the question? It could actually happen.

A Red Sox batter hit a pitched ball over the fence, then jogged around the bases and touched home plate. What does it mean? NYY didn't even try to stop him as he ran? Does this happen much for the Red Sox? Very strange.

Comment from Michael Kay on YES: " If the Red Sox had known Ellsbury would be this good , they probably would not have signed Crawford."   I tend to agree, but too late now , Theo.

Crawford strikes out on a pitch he couldn't have hit with an ironing board. Really? Now? In this situation? Again, superlatives fail.

Nice AB, Carl. Maybe by year seven of your inexplicable contract you'll realize that you don't swing at the bouncing ball (unless your name is Vlad).

Wonder if Crawford realizes he just struck out on a 58 foot pitch?

Entire Sox organization sign September's check to the Jimmy Fund.  None of you earned it. Then maybe you can say that you cured cancer for all those millions.

Yeah, but there was a flag on the play. That HR will be called back.

The Sox blowing the wild card, effectively eliminates all of their guys from MVP consideration.  Verlander looking like a sure thing.

Well, the Blue Jays have hit about a thousand balls to the warning track so far today.

Crawford's biggest problem all year has been poor pitch recognition. Just a suggestion: How about an eye exam? Couldn't hurt.

I think the saddest part of today is that the better of two pitchers is now pitching in game 1.
