    HEY SUNSLAVE,

you ever post anything w/o the word TROLL in it?
you're nothing more than a run-on sentence that's been running on much too long.
oh, and andrewmitch, don't tell me i'm misguided; makes you sound like some kind of prophet or, worse yet, a priest.
thought to dwell on: if all the people in the world were ATHEISTS, there would be a lot less wars and other acts of human brutality, including terrorism.

would you rather I use the word "incorrect"?

use whatever word you like but we aren't a democracy.  and for good reason.  i thought you might like to know that.

It's not about whether it was a tough call.

    Here's a question:

Why do you think this took 10 years?

Someday you'll learn to think critically.

You failed to answer the question. Zilch.

Why did it take almost 2 and 1/2 years?

You will never learn to think critically. Obama had zero to do with this mission, which was completely the work of people who pre-dated his administration.

Now, why hasn't Obama "allocated the resources" to bring justice to Zawahiri?

Yeah so?  I know they are my words?  What's your point?  If you think that these united states of America is Christian Nation or a "Nation of God" then like I said before, I feel sorry for you.  In addition, why would God bless a  nation?  (on this point, you show your own ignorance of The Bible) God created men and woman, not nations.  Please, just go back, wrap yourself in the flag, be proud your tax dollars are being used for blood money, believe these united staes of America is a democracy and spreading democracy around the globe is our God-given right, and continue to worship the District of Columbia, Incorporated.  Good luck to you.

As a bit of a "political wonk" I am well aware that we are a Constitutional Republic!!!!!

I also agree that our first allegience should be to God / Jesus!  On these points we agree :)

Having said that.......  Every time you open your misguided mouth you stick your foot farther down your own throat!  Our country WAS originally founded on Christian principles.  WE The United States of America HAS BEEN and WILL continue to be, THE driving force toward good & freedom (especially the freedom to worship God / Jesus) in the world for the past 236 some odd years!
That is not to say that we have been without terrible mistakes..................
God has & will continue to bless this great nation so long as we keep him first.

    You ask what's my point?????

My point is that you seem to LOVE being the provocateur no matter what the issue on this board.  If you want to scream to the world that "we are not a Christian Nation," knock yourself out.  I think MOST here will find that truly offensive.   YOUR WORDS certainly seem to be saying that YOU, & ONLY people like you, are TRUE CHRISTIANS?????  While I will agree with you, that many in this country don't want us viewed as a Christian Nation, the MAJORITY still want us to be so!  As with most issues on this board, THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YOU'RE MOST COMFORTABLE TAKING A CRAP ON EVERYONE ELSE, IN A LAME ATTEMPT TO ELEVATE YOUR SELF PERCEPTION!

What you said was offensive!  It denigrates our ENTIRE country, at the expense of elevating yourself.

Congrats!  You've reached a new NOW!

Your original post was EXTREMELY PERSONAL & EXTREMELY offensive to ALL OUR BRAVE young men & women in the military.

Look!  Perhaps you simply don't realize how offensive your first post was?????

    OK

It certainly seemed unnecessarily provocative & self serving???

I definitely think there are far more appropriate ways & venues of simply saying "we need to remain a Christian Nation."

Re: A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR NAVY SEALS & MEN & WOMEN IN UNIFORM & UNDER COVER!!!

well, what we ARE TODAY and what we are SUPPOSED TO BE are 2 completely different things.

There are really ONLY 2 forms of gov't - Individualism and Collectivism

Individualists would be the Constitutional Republic which lead to Liberty

Collectivism would be a Monarchy, Socialism, Fascism and yes even Democracy

All forms of collectivism lead to Totalitarianism and thus, Tryanny

We can debate forever which form of collectivism we are practicing today.  It would be pointless.  The fact is there is no more individual liberty in this country.

I cannot believe where this conversationhas gone.

Thank you men and women of the US Armed Forces and those trained Navy Seals that took out evil yesterday.

This should be about a nation and its resolve to bring a mass murderer to justice. This has nothing to do about what Bush and Cheney did or didn't do in the years following or what Obama did or didn't do these last few months in making this happen and what errors may have been made.

Bin Laden had to go and now he is gone. On to the next subject matter.

Yashua of Nazareth - did you actually say that Andrew?

And the God thing - please stop. Maybe if we took God out, then these radicals would have nothing to kill for anymore.

BILL, your well meaning o.p. has turned ugly.

But nothing, I say NOTHING, can distract real Americans who care about freedom and who are grateful to the brave men and women in our elite forces for doing the dirty, dangerous work they do from feeling we have , at least, eradicted the world of one despicable crumb. Even if it doesn't "make up" for all the misery he has caused.

At least we don't have to see this smug, self righteous murdering coward laughing at us while he hides behind a human shield anymore.

The world may still be the same, but at least it is less one more piece of sh*t today...and that makes it a (little bit) better place at least.

    Thank you.

While andrewmitch obviously is passionate about his beliefs. I cannot say I disagree with all he says....

...but I feel this is the wrong place and  the wrong time to be speaking out in this manner.

Please guys (and girls) , we have enough fighting and disagreeing on baseball matters.

This post was intended to thank the men and women who put themselves in harm's way for others. These are great, brave people, they make me proud. They are doing a job most of us would not want to do.And they are the best. The least we could do is put our prejudice, our anger and our petty jealousy aside for at least a day.

In Response to Re: A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR NAVY SEALS & MEN & WOMEN IN UNIFORM & UNDER COVER!!! : Because the job of doing it was so difficult.  It took 8 years of intelligence gathering to get this job done.  A democratic congresswoman from California acknowledged this morning that it took the work of the past 3 Presidents/Administrations to help bring this moment to fruition.  It was really the hard work of the intel community and the men and women in uniform on the ground that got this done.  I'm done but we can debate baseball and argue that but I think some moments like this one should be truly appreciated and I don't want to get down in the gutter on this one which is where this thread is headed.

My question was directed at Softy. I suspect you and I agree for the most part.  I respect the work done under the three administrations, however there were serious mistakes made during the prior two. My only point here is that the job was completed under the current administration, and that should be acknowledged. Apparently that's more than some are capable of.

Should we all think critically?  It is estimated that somewhere between 100,000-125,000 Iraqi civilians have died since the U.S. invasion in 2003.  I wonder how most Americans would react if the Iraqi people celebrated in the streets upon hearing that W Bush was shot in his mansion.  I'd guess that most would differentiate Osama as a terrorist and Bush as a liberator of the Iraqi people, at least those who survived.

I think celebrating death, even that of Bin Laden, is ugly and I wish that we as Americans were above it.  But we are not, just like we are not above making it about politics.   Bush Vs. Obama......

Just overheard on CNN.... "What we are really wondering, is how Bin Laden's death is affecting the Market".   God bless America!!!

No, you provided no details on "allocation of resources", which is complete rhetorical nonsense.

As for "Mistakes were made in other administrations", what were those "mistakes"?

And why didn't OBL get that trial in a civilian court?

    Why is Gitmo still open?

Why haven't "allocation of resources" been used to capture or kill Zawahiri?

I agree with your post Calmy.  Justice was served in some way with the killing of Bin Laden.  But I find all the celebration and cheering very weird.  It makes me uncomfortable.  I cheered for one thing yesterday, and that was Crawford's walk-off single.

Can't all the politicos on here all be united for once in what is a victory for all of us?

This has been an ongoing process over the past couple administrations to get this guy.

Bush and Obama both deserve some credit, but most of the credit goes to our intelligence services and the brave determined men, who actually carried out this operation.
