Somewhere...Salty is getting word of this, and furthering his motivation to crush MLB in 2014...

"Bill never thought I was the next Fisk...but thinks Vazquez is...I'll show that bas..."

    Love the enthusiasm Bill!

It would be nice to see Brentz develop but I still think Hassan has more potential to have better big league splits.

The WAR of a player with both first and last names beginning with the letter 'B', also containing a 'Z' has historically been no higher than 0.2.

    Doesn't everyone know that?

These are the things I LOVE about the spring training games. I love when the minor leaguers get the chance to show them what they have.

Also..it looks like Naps came to spring training ready to hit!

Oh dear god really? REALLY? Have we learned nothing?

Lets see Brentz hit MLB pitching in the regular season then well talk.

If his power did translate to the big leagues he's effectively Josh Reddick with less defense.  And he might have more holes in his swing than Reddick.

Sadly, this is true. (Even sadder yet, that I am making this post.)

The combined WAR of Benito Baez and Brandon Bantz is 0.0.

Technically, Bantz is still active and ready to add to that total...

Does this mean if Bryce changes his name to Brent he has a shot at 164 WAR?

And yes, its kinda sad this is the most interesting thing to talk about here.

It's actually going to be pretty easy to keep him down.  Victorino/Jackie Bradley Jr./ Mike Carp/ Daniel Nava/ Johnny Gomes and maybe even Grady Sizemore.

But don't worry, Alex Hassan or Bryce Brentz will get a call up if 1 or 2 guys are injured.
