A Game--Propose a trade and see who has a trade happen-or close to it.

Let's do one at a time----no piggy back comments. It would be interesting to see if any that are proposed actually happen.

You can have many posts but try for one trade per post.

    Not just Sox trades.

Could be something you've seen elsewhere--maybe state the source.

Lester and Kalish for Alex Gordon.

Have to be a Sox trade?   I could see a Danny Espinosa-Denard Span deal going down...

Alex Gordon??  He is 28 years old going to be 29 years old next year, and yet he is not even in the top 10 best OF in baseball.

He is just like Johnny Gomes!!

Come on, why Boston have to subract another pitcher while they are currently looking for a top part of the starting rotation.  That is going to be two pitchers that Boston need to fix for the starting rotation if they trade Lester.

I dont know why the world these medias coming up with an idea of trading Lester.  Boston need to have an experience left handed pitcher in their rotation.  Doubront is just in his first full year pitching!!

    Lester is not going anywhere!!

A trade I think may happen.....

Oakland trades Brett Anderson and a mid-level prospect to the Boston Red Sox for Iglesias, Salty and Gomez.

Alex Gordon ranks third among all outfielders with a combined WAR of 12.8 over the past two seasons. Jonny Gomes, who is three years older, ranked 66th with a WAR of 3.6 over the same period.

Trade Ortiz to the O's for Adam Jones or Markakis.

This would result in the O's going strong after Hamilton.

Trade scenario with Royals might be executed to include Butler.

Adam Jones and Nick Markakis are not comparables.  Ortiz for Jones, Sox make out like bandits.  Ortiz for Markakis, no way.

Morse to the O's for 2 top prospects and 2 mid level prospects.  (Nats then resign LaRoche.)

And since this isn't the NBA, where sign and trades are actually legal, the Sox couldn't trade Ortiz right now, even if for some very strange reason they wanted to...

    LOL.

I origianlly advocated trading for Gio Gonzalez, but once he went to the Nats, I began my Gavin Floyd, Wandy Rodriguez and others suggestions.

I don't see many other top quality young starters that can be pried from their teams out there.

They may not want OF'er in return, but rather a SS (3rd team involved or Bogaerts).

    I've proposed:

2 from: Doubront, Aceves, and Tazawa

    Bogaerts

    Cecchini

    Any prospect below #10.

I like this deal, only I offer it w/ Aceves initially.  Doubie blew me away last year (and you can pull out my old posts, I doubted him) and Tazawa looked like a solid major leaguer before he added 5 MPH to his fastball.  He looks like closer material.  Maybe even #2 starter material.

Aceves, Cecchini, Boegarts, any prospect below #10 for JUPP.

Trust me, Moon, I know "why" you want him.  I just think with the uncertainty of McCarthy's return, and the very real possibility that one of Milone, Parker or Griffin struggles or Blackley comes back to earth, they'll hang onto him until the deadline, and move him if they are out of it...

Red Sox recieve: Stanton, Wil Myers, and Carlos Zambrano's contract.

Marlins recieve: Ellsbury, Salty, Owens, Cecchini, De La Cruz, Lackey's contract, and three of: Aceves, Doubront, Morales, Kalish, Nava, Brentz, and Iglesias from Sox, Moustakas from Royals.

Royals recieve: Lester, Ricky Nolasco, and Yunel Escobar.

WHAT?!?! I think Lester has waaaaaaay more value than that. I wouldnt even trade him straight up for Myers like some are suggesting. A successful MLB LHP is a very valuable piece.
