A question for any Lawyers out there

What if one of the houses searched today had pot plants growing in it or some other illegal thing inside.  Could they be arrested?  Technically they had no search warrent.  Just wondering.

If the occupant let them in then they wouldn't have needed a warrent. But I doubt the police cared less about anything but finding the bomber.

Nice legal opinions, but I think irrelevant.  The cops were focused on one thing only--the terrorist--so they would never have worried about even obvious violations other than maybe to tell them to get rid of it and probably not even that.

DJ-Nice response.  Were you my Law 101 teacher?  I'm still annoyed at the scoring to the first question of the first test, and I forget nothing.

as long as they didnt search for it (meaning it was visible) when executing the warrant, it can be used....

    In response to softlaw2's comment:

Good luck with the federal and body politic status quo and more attacks and loss of U.S. citizen lives, many that could be prevented by a change in policy.

So what would your policy be?

    Just say it.

    I could use a giggle.
