    A SHORTSTOP???????

  2. The Red Sox are trying to find a high-end starting pitcher or a shortstop, one official told Sherman.

  3. REALLY?? what is Inglesias for then? Heard Scutaro is available

    Yeah that shocked me, too.

They need a bulldog starting pitcher.  SS position is not the one giving up the runs on this team.

Shortstop??  The Red Sox do not have a pitcher they can count on to win a game when they need one.  I've been a Sox fan for 60 years for the most part of that time that has always been the Red Sox problem.  Lots of offense but no big time pitching over any extended period of time.

If Boston ever want Crawford out, then why can they put him back at the #2 spot where he was hitting hot at that spot.  That way he could easily increase his value!!!  Now since batting #7, he is now scary away teams!!!

We should have done what it took to trade him to Miami and then flip HanRam to the Dodgers.

These opportunities will not come again.

But I think Marlins may have asked Boston to take Health Bell too!!  Boston isnt going to take two bad contracts for one bad contract!!!

Still we both never know what was in the discussion between two clubs!!

If we find high end SS who will be our long term solution at SS, Bogaerts and Iggy could be available for high end pitcher.  Only concern is we will have to part with one of our top SS prospect to acquire high end SS.

My quiestion is who's out there that can be considered as high end SS in the major?  Is Reyes high end SS that Sox is looking for? If we are ready to part with our top prospects like Bogaerts, Iggy, or Barnes, we should be aiming for a player like Tulo to be our long term SS.

HanRam was going to be flipped to the Dodgers, so Bell's deal paled in comparison to what we dumped to the Marlins.

Bell makes $10M for 2013 and 2014, then he'd be gone.  CC will cripple us for 5 more years.

The Marlins were not interested in Crawford or his contract.  That rumored trade was just that, a rumor.

Unless the Red Sox are willing to eat 50 million Crawford is not tradeable.  Considering he needs surgery, he might not even be tradeable if the Red Sox eat 50 million.

true.....pretty much every team can believe they are in the hunt.  Even Ben thinks his last place sub 500 team is in the hunt...anways, I was just answering the question of POTENTIAL top of line SS's out there...there aren't many.......if any.....
