He isn't. Never had the arm and probably doesn't have the power of 2011. Best case is roughly what he did in 2009 but with a lot fewer SB's.

Last time I checked Ellsbury has 0 at-bats this season.

Ah, another anti-Ellsbury post by Softy/Bill. It wouldn't be baseball otherwise.

Jacoby Ellsbury: "Yes, sir!!!"

Ellsbury is a good , all around player. However , it is doubtful that he will ever match his 2011 production. Probably was a career year for him. But why the disdain ?

Bill......have you EVER brought anything new and original to this board?? I do like the fact that you're very liberal...which is evident on your man-crush with that 'soft' guy....but seriously...you mess the entire front page of the forum up with useless threads that have already been done before. We get it....you don't like Ortiz because he has a bad heel....we get it...you don't like ellsbury because you BF hates him..... move on Bill...a true 'Poster of the Year' would add something new.....right now you're stale bread.... -

Bill's MO, for those who have not pieced it together yet, is to fall in love with a prospect based on minimal sample size, say one or two at-bats, and then endlessly bash the Major Leaguer in front of him, insisting he needs to be traded. Never will he specify where to or for what, because trades to him are for clearing the way for prospects...

Bill, if you have nothing to say, then don't say it. I'll try to be respectful here, though there is no way you'd return the favor to the board, but you add nothing to this board by insulting all the players, and annoying all the participants.I will tell you who you remind me of. When I was 10, and the kids in the neighborhood would try to annoy the other kids by making fun of their team. Usally by saying 'Mantle went 0-4 last night' or 'Yaz went 0-4'.
You seem to have little to no ability to hold an adult conversation.

The MO for more than a few posters, is that they will like anyone not on the 25-man Red Sox roster. Almost any player, from any team, no matter how ridiculous the contract, or how bad they are injured, is preferrable to someone currently on the team.Anyone remember how badly some of the fans wanted Chris Carter and Jeff Bailey on the team?

Let's see.....
Billy's male support system sniffing of Stiffy's undergarment apparel vs. the talent level Ells clearly exhibeted in 2011??? Coming back to form after his unfortunate accident with a TRUCK named Adrian Beltre???
Any baseball fan / baseball aficionado would know which side to take. Stiffy & Bill??? Not so much!

Exactly. and Carter did make the team for a few weeks.
I think some fans miss the fact that players with guaranteed contracts who know they have a roster spot locked up do not go all out in ST. and why should they? Risk injury?
Younger guys like Bradley? Minor league vets like Carter, Bailey and Ciriaco? They have nothing to lose by playing hard in ST. They need to make an impression to have any hope at all...

Bill's MO is actually to say anything he thinks will get a "rise" out of Softy, thus putting the stiff in Stiffy.I've never seen such a teenage like crush on anybody like Bill's crush on Stiffy.... It's actually quite humorous to see Bill so desperately seek approval from this mancrush.
LOL ;) You are so cute Billy!

In 2009 I was pretty sure he was going to end up on the Yankees. Once we signed him though, I went off the Crawbury deep end. :-)
