Somewhere I read a report saying Adam Lind was coming from Toronto to the Red Sox.

Has anyone else heard this or was it just a troll report to stir things up?

If was a false report...the player the Sox got back in the trade was David Carpenter...who was about to be designated for assignment by the Jays.

Give us Lind and the Red Sox will then give you Lackey and his massive contract.   LOL

Given that 29yo Adam Lind makes $5mill next year with a $2mill buyout for a $7mill option in 2014  (and 2 subsequent escalating options), and has a .296 OBP over the last 3 years and can not even stay on the MLB roster of a last place team, Toronto might actually accept that offer.

 

Be careful what you wish for...

It made sense to me when I heard the rumor. Thought it might be a salary dump for Toronto since they couldnt give him away this year. Just like the hotstove season, it was just a rumor and nothing was confirmed.
