After Jeter, who will be the new "Face of Baseball"?

Before last night's Home Run Derby, there was some discussion on who would be the next "Face of Baseball" once Derek Jeter retires at the end of this season.

In the short term, David Ortiz' name came up, but since the big guy is on the cusp of retirement himself, it's unlikely. In the long term..the overwhelming opinion was Mike Trout. I think I agree with that.

    Any other candidates?

Mike Trout sounds good but he doesn't get mention a lot... It will be a player who plays for New York

Trout is likely the name that will jump out at everyone, but there could be others, maybe someone on the way...it will certainly have to be a postion player...

I never EVER thought of Jeter as being the 'face of MLB'.  I don't think that other than the NBA (James) that any sport really has a 'face'.  I do think that I Kingface am clearly the 'face' of this thread.......
