2 backwards Ks for Salty.  Atta boy.

Can anybody tell me why Salty never chokes up and shortens his swing with 2 strikes?  I know he hasn't attempted to swing tonight, but he always maintains his long loopy swing with 2 strikes.  ugh

All of the forum posts today were blaming Farrell for last night's loss.

I don't think Farrell was wrong in pitching to Longoria, but I wouldnt have given anything good to hit.  I would have tried to make him swing at bad pitches and most likely he would have walked.  Then take your chance with the 0 for 11 myers

Salty may be feeling the pressure a bit. He is freezing on those pitches. Have to protect the plate with two strikes.

JBay he is streaky and he can get into that strikeout mode quick. At least swing, he has been caught looking twice tonight. They need him to make contact not look at close pitches with two strikes.

    Hell yes.

You whiners still wanna jump ship?  Or do you want to enjoy the thrilling ride that's been all year?

You have to treat this like its game 5 and not just be content to wait til you go home. The Sox have to treat it like it IS an elimination game.

I'm not saying the Sox should be playing with no sense of urgency;  I think this game is huge.  But by reading these comments you would think the Sox suck and they're going to lose this game and consequently, the series.

We have to start putting the bat on the ball with runners in scoring position.  Simple as that.

They CAN lose this game; and they CAN lose the series. Yes, we have to put the bat on the ball, but that is not happening, is it. Not yet anyway.

I see you're more of a pessimistic, glass half-empty guy.  Nothing wrong with that.  I am the opposite.  They CAN win this game; and they CAN win this series by winning ONE more of the next TWO games.  I like our chances.  Peavy is pitching like a bulldog right now and we are about to get into the Rays pen.  Have some faith my friend.

Salty is just poison.  Remember that in last night's game in the top of the fourth, Ortiz on third with one out after he hustled there on a fly ball out but Salty can't even make contact to get him home on a fly ball; he strikes out. Gawd he picked a bad time to turn into a doofus at the plate.
