I'm just a wee bit surprised that you omitted from your list indomitable centerfielder for the Sox in the 70's, Rick Miller.

Space, I'm the financial and intellectual life of every party I've ever attended;)  A Party is a different purpose than a baseball message board, don't ya think;)

That's gotta be one funky bash at the Section 8 housing complex.  ;)   LOL

Hey!  Why not.  I'm sure those folks would even put up with Stiffy if he wants to spring for the kegs.  Oh, don't ya just wish you could be a fly on the wall at those parties???

I can just hear the drinking games created.....  OK guys, every time he uses the word "captious," we have to take a shot.  "NO!  You can't give him an atomic wedgie until the keg is drained!!!!"

Good point Softy.  Forgive me.  I know when I am at a party, the first thing I do is scope out who I think might be the financial and intellectual life and bee line for him/her.

I own some Section 8 housing, and to make light of them is truly bigoted. They are good people with more money than the governement cares to find about.

Many people in "New Ireland" might find your accusations of bigotry to be hypocritical...

No. None of those people find me to be hypocritical.  Most find me to be honest, upfront, pleasant and witty.  Some even use the word "urbane."

Probably because I don't refer to New England as "New Ireland" in a purely derogatory context...

witty isnt using bigot in a derogatory sense.

Then speak to those who refer to me that way.   I cannot help how people describe me, and the labels they choose.

But then I guess those of us with Irish heritage have heard alot before...
