Good wins for sure. But never get over excited about a win and never get despondent over a loss. It happens in baseball.

They got lucky that ichiro lost that ball in the sun and weaver was due for a loss.

Just as you guys claim that you can't get worked up over  the sawx lousy start means you shouldn't get all excited about a couple of wins.

"and weaver was due for a loss."

That's all you can come up with? LOL

On the other hand, you DO get all excited over every red Sox loss, so watching the Sox win two games with two of the best pitchers in the AL against them must really get to you.

    Enjoy, Zippy.

I mentioned this on another thread, but it deserves its own thread.

Last night with Ellsbury getting on base and Pedey, A-Gon, Youk and Ortiz just pounding in the runs. Great to see.

Yes I do enjoy watching the red flops lose. And watching them win a couple of games while floundering in last place doesn't get to me at all.

In fact, I enjoy that it gives the members of the red flops nation continued false hope.

Sorry, you hate it when we get any enjoyment out of the game. Your enjoyment seems to be to fixate on the red sox and constantly try to rain on our parade. Why don't follow your own team instead of ours?

Do you really think your childish insults get to anybody. It just shows how immature you are.

The lineup worked the count with both pitchers, giving both an inflated pitch count earlier than usual. Thats the way it should be done. 2 good wins against 2 Cy young calibur pitchers.

I follow my team all the time. Great watching them win it in the 9th last night after struggling to hit with RISP all night. The team has grit, something your red flops don't seem to possess.

But you are somewhat right, I do get great enjoyment from the red flops continual failures.

Yes we did receive some luck when Ichiro lost the ball in the sun. Supposedly over 162 games the good luck and bad luck will cancel each other out. There is no need to respond to the troll on the matter.

These are 2 very good wins for the Sox. Perhaps we are finally starting to turn the corner and put April behind us.

Or perhaps it's just a couple of wins by a sub .500 team.

Re: Anything to be said for beating King Felix and super hot Weaver back to back?

Both very exciting games--riveting, actually.  And in early May, yet.

Hernandez actually pitched well, but Ortiz got a huge double for the two runs, which should have lasted.  Yes, Lowrie's "triple" was luck, but Crawford's rbi single was not.  He delivered with RISP, whereas in the game before the Sox went 0 for 11 with RISP.

Last night I think we saw the residual effects of Weaver's stomach virus or whatever.  He was good enough, but not at his best.  And Pedroia had a fantastic at bat to get that 2-rbi single.

Two wins despite two bullpen implosions--one by Jenks and one by Wheeler.  Francona doesn't have a lot of good options when he calls for a reliever.  Pap is as good as ever, but Bard is off from last year (hopefully that is behind him).  Jenks and Wheeler, expected to be stalwarts, have ERA's over 9.  Okajima might be OK this time, but his ERA is still over 6.  Wake is a specialist--mop up or spot starter.  Albers has been terrific so far and is likely to get the "7th inning slot" in place of Jenks.  Aceves and Atchison are at Pawtucket and could be called up.

jenks could be another gagne. what a delightful thought.
wheeler could share mop-up duty with wake.
as for brooms, make sure there's one to sweep theo out of the building.

i think Babe should start numbering his handles everytime he comes back after getting banned.

I'm thinking Babe1, Babe2, Babe3, and so on just so we can entertain ourselves a bit more at his expense and easily track the number of times he's been banned and keeps coming back.

There's being a loser, then there's being Babe. What an idiot.

So the Yankees win thanks largely to what should have been called an error last night (just before Swisher's hit), and that's gritty, but the Red Sox win largely because Ichiro lost a ball in the sun and it's "luck"?

I didn't know that's how it works. Double standard much?

On the other hand, they didn't lose any ground. The Yankees had a perfect chance to pull away and they haven't done it.

Three weeks of the Red sox playing bad baseball and the Yankees have picked up exactly one game in that time.
