Ben better sign somebody because if this team flops this year because of pitching again guess who is going to be left out to dry. Its not going to be JH and LL.

How do John Holmes and Linda Lovelace figure into this?

Re: Are Sox Out On Oswalt??

it look like at this point the market for oswalt has shrunk to just the cardinals and red sox. (it has been reported that texas is unlikely to sign him) If reports are correct, it appears the cardinals and sox have both offered similar deals to oswalt, 1yr 5-6 million. The cardinals already have a solid rotation and in order for them to add oswalt they would have to trade someone like kyle mcllelan(his name is the one that has come up the most) to free up space and salary. So basically it comes down to oswalt wanting to pitch close to home for a team that has a very slim chance at winning the world series given the loss of albert pujols or the sox who could have a legit shot with oswalt on board. hopefully he decides soon and hopefully he chooses the sox.

ya honestly at this point if they dont land oswalt, i would take richard harden. harden is better than padilla, maine, cook etc.

Sometimes a comment just hangs out there waiting for someone to come along at the right time.

I just happened to come along at the right time.

The Rangers dropped out yesterday. So from all that I've read there's only the Cards and the Sox left as suitors and the Cards want him to pitch out of the pen.

Oswalt's agent said he DEFINITELY does not want to pitch from the pen.  No how, no way ....

I've read that there is a movie coming out on the Linda Lovelace story. A biography of some sorts. Can you imagine asking your wife, heh honey let's go to that movie...I'm not thinking that one would get off the ground. Unless it's porn ( which I don't think it is intended to be ) who in H is going to go watch that movie?

Harden had a pretty good year in 2005 and 2008, but even in those years, he never went over 150 IP.

    Since 2009, Rich is
    18-18 with a 4.79 ERA  and a 1.46 WHIP
    (tERA 5.08/xFIP 5.09)

Even Wake has equal or better numbers since 2009:
    22-23  with a 5.28 and a WHIP of 1.38
    (tERA 4.68/xFIP 4.98)
