I see the Rangers have a pitcher going tonight with a losing record, so there is no chance Ortiz decides to take this game off.

LOL Derek Holland has a 1-2 record but he also has a 3.38 ERA and a .95 WHIP.  That means he's been pitching pretty good.

The thing that makes Softy unique is that he is totally incapable of admitting that he was wrong about anything.  Not once have I seen him even come close to doing so.  It's an amazing thing.

    [/QUOTE

It is my experience that in life few people do admit they are wrong.  I doubt that on a board like this, many do.

Before this comes back to me, I admitted that once i saw ortiz in person he looked in shape.  I also said that when he left McCoy that it was rare, but some players who don't do well in minor league rehab, catch right on when they join the parent club.

I agree to not give up on Ortiz, but let him go yard several times before bringing him up.  Three singles, two of which I saw could have easily been outs, does not prove that he is ready yet for fenway.

I see you have a lot of time to go thru threads.  It was once ortiz was heading here. I am sure you know exactly where I said it too.

getting back to why I originally came to this thread, it is nice to see some finally admit the astros are a bad team.

I watched more baseball shows then I cared to over the weekend.  All reports have him only running in a straight line and has yet to step on a base or run to second.

You can spin the reports all you want, but Ortiz is not going to play in a game at fenway for at least memorial day.

fourb's:  I am glad to have made your boring life interesting.  If you think this upsetting me, think again.  I will never regret calling things as I see them.  When was the last time you went out on a limb?

One thing has not change, Ortiz has his homers against two very bad pitchers on what some are finally admitting, a very bad team.

I doubt you will ever find me going thru your threads or anyone else's.

Wouldn't it be more concerning if he couldn't hit bad pitching?

It's a little too early for "I told you so" threads.

If April was all that counted, I could agree....small sample size on Dempster and Carp, we've seen Nava go on a tear before , for short stretches.

I hate to put a wet blanket on your post, but at least wait until July, before starting the "I told you so" threads.

Exactly. He is right about it being way too early for irrational exuberance. Lets see how things are going by the trade deadline.

No, like another poster pointed out, you're just too lazy to do any real leg work.

You'll just continue to make over-the-top statements and not back them up.

What about irrational negativity so early in a season during a 20-8 start?

not really, he is being paid 15 million per season so I would hope bad pitching would never be a concern.  For 15 million I would hope he would be able to hit Colon.

Obiviously I was wrong...i was wrong...about ortiz's return.  Once again, once I saw him him in person, I changed what I htought about his being in shape.  Possibly the fourb's could find that post.

ha, that was a poster who signed up during a discussion last night and most likely was ms because i have ms blocked. Please keep what you have left of your individuality and not side with a poster who uses multiple names.

If I was too lazy i would not have driven down to McCoy to see david in person.

No one is negative about the sox's start.  Believe it or not I think even the ortiz's naysayers are happy with his production.  Just because I come on here and post a few facts, does not mean I hate the sox.
