Cook allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings against the Orioles in a May 5 start ... Cook will make his first appearance tonight since beating the Rangers Aug. 6, when he allowed one run over seven innings ...

What is our best starting 9 lineup, and why cant we have that for more than 1 game at a time ?
It is my opinion that the Sox have always done better when the guys knew they were playing every game except for an occasional night of rest (key word occasional)
Does anyone else share this opinion ?

yes, i do. Ciriaco, for instance, should always be in the lineup, and the only platoon at this point should be Salty-Lavarnway with Aviles at 3b, Ciriaco at SS...But it will always be this way under BV.

Best line up is probably this one
Ellsbury, Crawford, Pedy, Agonz, Ross (RF), Salty (DH), WMB, Shoppach and Ciriaro.
But since Shoppach is gone at the same time Lavarnway cant hit lately along with injured WMB, I guess BV have no choice on trying to make the same line up every day.

Evening, AL. not gonna happen overnight. Valentines has to go, IMO they cant win games this way. Hard to say from the outside looking in. The organization needs to figure out how to turn things around. if a few players need to go and they have to eat some money, so be it.

Jones and his airmail throw was due to poor fundamentals which is rampant in MLB these days.He should have brought the glove TO his his throwing hand to transfer not the other way around. The ball rolled up his glove as he reached for it and messed up his grip while hurrying. Shame on you MLB player

Cook serving up a tasty meal so far. Also watching Reds/Mets on FSNO. Chris Welsh just said something interesting. As you know, Kelly Shoppach traded to Mets this week, and Welsh reported that one of the first things Shoppach said when he got to the Mets was that when he was leaving Boston, half the team met him in the clubhouse and said: "Good luck, wish we were going with you." Wow, just wow. Has it gotten as bad as all that now in Boston? Shame. This used to be a place players wanted to come. Welsh also mentioned the players meeting about Valentine, and said there are a lot of people out there saying "I told you so". Sad, but probaby true. Reds beating up on R. A. Dickey tonight.

I don't think there's any doubt Valentine will go, exam. My question is, why was he hired to begin with? He was never a great manager and his mouth always got him in trouble
