Another tactical mistake by Valentine. He should have pinch hit for Salty there. He hasn't even been able to make contact lately, let alone get on base.

You just remind me of someone I used to know. I don't think I called you any names.

The Indians are horrible and we are going to lose to them. Embarassing.

I'm not a Salty basher but he now has 101 K's in just under 300 AB's. I knew he had been whiffing a lot but that is really bad.

It's all about the baseball now. At least we haven't lost the season series to the Yanks yet. Maybe Ben will be bold and put Bradley and Bogaerts in Pawtucket for the rest of the year now.

In Response to Re: August 9 Game Thread, Sox v Indians : the SOX bench is empty of hitters. anyways, salty has been known to swing hard and sometimes make contact. not often, but sometimes.

When can we call up some more of the Pawtucket guys? Sept 1? I would have let Lavarnway have a crack at it. Why even bring him up if he is going to rot on the bench?

Yea, the guy is hitting a robust .181...maybe if Theo had been around the Sox would have signed him to a 5 yr deal.

I'd like to see a couple of Portland guys in the lineup. The Killer B's.

If they are going to lose consistently then it would be more fun to see the kids up trying hard to win. I would also like to see some of the pitchers come up and start some games.

Were you paying attentin, Bobby? That was a bunt; spelled b-u-n-t. Otherwise known as a sacrifice. It's oftern done when a man is on sewconf with no outs. If your guys can't do this simple thing, either teach them or get one of you coaches to teach them how this is down. They probably learned how it is done back in Little League, and have forgotteb how it's accomplished.

Zach Stewart looks good right now. We don't have much pitching above A ball presently though.
