this is is simply sad. talk about a made up injury.. abdominal pull my foot. he's not good enough to pitch in AAA, not good enough to get out AA hitters. what else is there? perhaps a fresh start is whats needed. if hurt and ur not pitchig makes a trade tough? get him healthy and good riddance!

thats funny, they could put him anywhere they want as he has minor league options. They would have no reason to put him on the DL unless there was something wrong. They have nothing to gain.

I always liked Bard and it is very sad to see him struggling.  I don't know what happened to him but I don't believe he will ever be the dominant pitcher that we all remember.

They could put him on the 60 day to free up a roster spot.  Chances are slim to none that he will help the Sox this season.

worst thing the sox fo ever did was try to convert him into a starter, dumb from the beginning and looking even worse now. when you have a top notch set up man/ potential closer, u dont mess with that. now bards career has hit rock bottom and we could really use him in the pen right now especially with hanrahan being out for the season. only the sox fo could pull off something this idiotic. the 3 guys who have successfully converted from relievers to starters (sale, wilson and feliz) all have one thing in common that bard never had, and something that the sox fo clearly overlooked before attemped to convert bard, and that thing is previous success as starters. those guys had success in the minors as starters prior to being moved into the pen and then back into the rotation. bard was terrible as a starter in the minors and as a result was moved to the pen where he excelled.  again, he never had success as a starter, but yet the sox fo took the risk of converting him and losing a top notch pen guy knowing that the odds were against him succeeding as a starter. its amazing how the sox fo has managed to make so many mistakes.
