Posted by andrewmitch[/QUOTE]I thought "The Kid" was Ted's best nickname, and of course it was used in the headline in perhaps the best baseball article ever.

Ernie "let's play two" Banks. This name couldn't be used in this age of baseball, he comes from a time where team would schedule afternoon double headers during the summer months.

As much as I hate to admit it, "The Yankee Clipper" was a pretty good nickname too.

I guess Yogi's & Duke's are forgotton, because many think that's their real name.

The eye chart one is hilarious.

Also "No-Neck" Williams, Whitey Ford, Willie "Hit Them Where they Ain't" Keeler, "Home Run" Baker, "Smokey" Joe Wood,  "Moose" Skowron, "Goose" Gossage, Spaceman, The Count, Louisiana Lightning, Kid Nichols, Boomer Wells

I always liked Dr. Strangeglove; actually Stuart wasn't that bad; and he was perfect for Fenway; I'm sure he liked it much better than Forbes Field.
