Granted there was and error by Dustin but cant Francona tell when someone just doesnt have it on a piticular day? He always leaves people in - because he wants to be a players manager, and those pitches Paps wanted as strikes well they where way outside

Josh has pitched great this season just to see our pen kill everything he works for. Pap should not be our close anymore. -

the coma always leaves pitchers in too long. it never fails. beckett was left in too long, paps was left in too long(jenk and aceves were both still available) surprise surprise. theo needs to make a move for some bullpen help. hill is done, okajima wants to be traded, morales is on the DL, atchison sucks(though he will be sent down to make room for lackey most likely). We need a lefty big time. We cannot rely on tommoy hottovy as our only lefty in the pen. -

i know on playstation you can trade for 12 all-stars for the pitching staff. but in real life guys get injured, guys go through periods of being ineffective.
and who cares that Oki wants to be traded - if the Sox feel he is their best option - he will be called up. -

Exactly, and that's the reason Tito sports two WS Rings, because the Sox find ways to win depite him !! Had it not been for the ump throwing Paps out of the Game He would have pitched another 30 pitches and the Sox would have lost that game so I say a Game ball needs to go to the ump !! -

I have a difficult time feeling sorry for Josh. The bats got him a two-run lead against a solid starter and he gave it back in the sixth with a hit batter, a walk, a wild pitch and a double. They come off the field, the offense immediately provides him with a three-run lead. When he takes the mound to start the seventh, he immediately gives up a walk and a hit to bring the tying run to the plate. The pen got out of the inning with the lead (which Paps later surrendered). Let's not act like he was dealing and had a no-no with fifteen K's through six.
At the end of the day, did Josh pitch well enough to win with the run support provided by the offense? Yes, he probably did. Did he thoroughly dominate a weak-hitting team like he should have? No, he did not.
After trying to lose the game, the team finally got the "W" and in the end, that's all that matters. -

Morris had 254 wins, but Tommy John and Jim Kaat each had 280+ and they're not in either. -

Can't feel sorry for him when he can't go more than six innings. The more guys you have to bring in from the pen , the more likely that one of them will screw it up. Go a little deeper in the game. Sox starters have not been doing that. -

You're closer is suppose to be your best reliever. You let him try to clean up his own messes, period.
To ignore how good Paps has been good this year for this one implosion just shows why you aren't a manager. Realistically Paps got out of that jam at that double play, end of story. -

Naturally. They mean nothing. That's why Cliff Lee is on poverty row.
The fact pitchers who pitch well generally are "awarded" more wins than those who don't is "irrelevant anyway".
Why even bother going 5 frames if the wins are not relevant. Let the BP burn out by June! Gee, ya think IP may contribute to win totals? Or is it also irrelevant?
