Sheriff - of all the stupid remarks made 'round these here parts - and there ain't a shortage of 'em - you have nailed the stupidest of them all i.e. "X is rubbish, terrible, low OPS, bad throwing arm, oft-injured, not clutch, bad breath and had sex outside of marriage" so let's trade him/them for Sandy Koufax and Babe Ruth!

I get the impression sometimes that some of the posters don't see a need for a 25-man roster.  That you don't need a #6 or #7 out of the BP, or a #5 OF, or a UIF.

..............."we've got work to do this winter". Hey Ben, there is still 6 weeks of Fall left. You don't need to wait until December 22nd to get started.

Froggod's sake, Ike....stop with the absurd, sad negativity.

Ben is one of 30 GMs in MLB....please give examples of other GMs that have been more active since the end of the World Series or shut the fvvck up about Ben.

You're addressing people that either don't understand timelines of BB, or don't understand the history of signings, or simply don't care and simply want to whine.  The same people people that complain about the BB timeline were ecstatic when we signed Crawford to a nice early deal.  It's like taking a cab instead of the train, so you can be in front of your TV at 6:30, when the game doesn't start until 7:00.

Further, you cannot demand that a FA put his signature on a contract.   The FA is probably looking to negotiate with maybe 10 teams.  If Greinke or Hamilton sign a $36M/3 deal with someone, maybe you can blame Ben for not being proactive.  But if Greinke and Hamilton don't feel like signing a contract today, there is not a lot you can do about it.
