    In response to softlaw2's comment:

Yankees are hanging in there, despite the injuries and aging out issues.

Where the Red Sox are today doesn't change the obvous. They have serious slugging issue matchup problems for all the home games that don't invovle the punch and judy Rays. Over a 162 game season, you are correct that Ortiz and Shane will be exposed. This Red Sox payroll will be lucky to make the playoffs and actuall win a playoff game.

Thanks for your contribution ma'am.....have a nice day!

Good morning to my good Red Sox friends.

Remember your motto: If you can't argue based on the facts, try to change the subject. You believe in the Art of Obfuscation.

    Let's separate fact from fiction.

    LOL. Keep dreaming.

Ben's acquisitions during the off season are retreads; players whose best seasons are just a memory.

Shane Victorino left Wednesday's 6-5 Red Sox win over the Athletics after the sixth inning with a sore lower back, the same injury that caused him to miss two games over the weekend. Victorino is injury-prone, and, as he ages, he's likely to break down more. So, Ben's investment in the aging outfielder for three-year, $39 million was not wise.

Stephen Drew( BA=.128)-upgrade over Jose Iglesias-hardly!

    Jonny Gomes(.BA =.188) signed to a two-year, $10 million deal

How much did he earn from Oakland in 2012? $1 million

Age=32 Role=platoon player and he is a bad defender.

    Will Middlebrooks= BA=.165

    Jarrod Saltalamacchia= BA= .218

Your closer, Hanrahan, is on the DL. And was not pitching like a dominant closer before he went on the DL.

Miller  (ERA=6.23) is inconsistent with control issues.

Your 6th starter, Aceves, was optioned to Triple-A.

Jon Lester once again sparred with two different home-plate umpires yesterday when he felt he was being squeezed. Sounds like 2012 again.

Clay Buchholz never pitched over 200 innings. How durable is he?

Dempster failed in Texas last year. Ben’s big addition is a mid 30s finesse NL pitcher; a bottom of the rotation addition.

Doubront is inconsistent and an end of the rotation starter.

And Lackey is a total mystery.

This team doesn’t have the big power bats of the 1st decade of the 21st century, nor the great starting pitching.

Ben did not build a playoff team.

Goodness this site sucks. Posted a comment and it did not take. Forced to post the comment a couple of times because you don't think the first one took. I long for the forum they had a couple of years ago.

Why are you guys expending so much energy answering a NYC Troll who is obviously here for only one reason, to irritate us Red Sox fans. The best thing to do is ignore this idiot and prey he'll go home to his hole in the bowls of NYC to cry himself to sleep and not bother us in Boston again. He'll probably join my current ignore list of Idiots2004, Conan, and the Soft One very soon.
