    Blondebino ruins HR Call

Blabbermouth Heidi Watney continued talking as Aviles hit the "shot heard round the League" last night. The HR by Aviles affected the Wild Card chances for Rays, Angels and Red Sox, but had no impact on the sideline "reporter". Watney, the designated hitee, serves no needed function. Put her in the booth, or on the street.

Did Heidi turn you down for a date YOUK :)  I prefer her right out there in plain site as an opposing team distraction and soothing feeling for our blood shot eyes.

    It was her spot.
Her pre-game interviews take a bit of time and they try and squeeze it in at the right point.    Sealed

Blame the tech who made the switch  at the wrong interval.
    Sh*t happens.

The extremes that some posters will go to, to start a thread and be noticed. Didn't this guy start a bash Gonzalez thread when he was batting .350?

I don't really see this as Heidi's fault. It's not her job to be a play-by-play girl whenever something exciting happens. It also seemed like a good time to run one of her segments---our 9 hitter up with 2 outs and no one on. Plus it's not like the camera stayed on her during the HR. We all saw it as it happened, and Orsillo it like 5 seconds later.

    And she's just so hot.

    Re: Blondebino ruins HR Call

Sideline reporter or dugout reporter.....job is to tell a quick story or give you a news update the moment the camera comes to them. If she was in the play-by-play booth, she would have her eyes on the field at all times. And you have to finish your thought/story before they cut away--if you stop on a home run, or let the game affect you, then you aren't doing your job as a reporter. She did her job, and the producers and director did their job by making sure the video was being shown of the homer. Don't forget the famous Namath drunk interview, the sideline reporter was brilliant that night. Didn't let Namath's idiotic advances on national television get in the way of the interview itself, then quickly got it back to the play-by-play booth as it got ugly but without over-reacting. Blame baseball's need for in-game interviews, in-game story lines and repetitive replays for ruining your baseball TV experience...Heidi did her job.

I love Heidi, but I wish NESN would put guests on as well as her spots, when the opponent is at bat.
They always do these interviews when the Sox are up. which is strange.

Since you asked, he was hitting .332, with ONE HOME RUN, at the time. :) It was another 3 weeks before he got to .350.

still rather watch her than watch let's say, Pedroia striking out with tying run in position,Elsbury picked off second, Saltalamacchia striking out 4 times etc, etc, etc. Looks like they willallbe watching thepost season from the same seats........

She picked her spot and probably thought "Hey, what are the chances Aviles hits a home run during my fluff piece?"

She should have gotten it out of the way during Crawford's at-bat....

Heidi isn't there for baseball comments and reporting. She is there to attract male and a few female viewers. If she was a baseball genius and her muscles were sagging, she would not even been interviewed for sex-line reporter.

Correction, he was hitting .314, and it was another 7 weeks before he got to .350,
other than the facts, you were spot on in your recollection.
