    Hey Bill,

You realize that the Red Sox had the same regular season record as the WS winning Cardinals?  You realize that they had one of the best offenses in baseball.  You realize that Beckett had one of the lowest ERAs of his career and had one of the lowest eras in the AL?

You are 100% that they can't start the season with the same team they had in September.  But how about the same team that had in June and July when they posted a winning percantage close to .700?  Last year's team had one problem - a lack of starting pitching depth.  If Buch doesn't get hurt, they win the WS.

Last year's team with a healthy Buch and Dice-K would be unstoppable.

We certainly would have had a much better shot at a ring, but "unstoppable"?

Also, if you give us Buch and Dice, shouldn't you give the Cards back Wainwright (their second ace-who was hurt all year)?

Sox offense led many categories.  They were the best offensive team in 2011.

Josh Beckett lasted 6.4 innings per game in 2011 season and posted 2.89 ERA,
.186 against LHB and .245 against RHB.  Bill... you are trying too hard.. you gotta calm yourself down.

Blowing up last year's roster is not the way to go. We already lost Paps and will likey lose Papi as well. That will be enough to overcome as it is.

I am still of the belief we will retain the services of the Big Papi.  Arbitration will get him 12mil+ in 2012...  only way he is going to get that kind of money next year IMO.

I'm beginning to get kind of 'anal' over this, but have been beating the drum since the trade deadline, has any-one noticed how deficient the Sox bull-pen is. Their only move they have made is a negative in letting Pap. go, in this era of 5 and 6 inning starters a deep and reliable pen is a must. This need trumps all others be it RH for RF or bench, even 4th and 5th starters IMO.

I don't think Papi's going to take that arb offer IMO.  He's drawing serious interests from multiple teams and if anyone of them gives him 2 yrs, then Papi's outta here unless Sox matches that offer.

...and some clowns want to take Aceves out of the pen and replace him and Paps with 1 year offers to journeymen pitchers.

    Hijole!

Re: BOBBY V. IS IN, LET THE "TRANSFORMATION" OF ROSTER BEGIN........

The entire pitching staff is in trouble.  They've lost one of the best relievers in the game and only have 3 legit starters to start the season.  Their starting rotation is in worse shape than it was at the start of last year.
