Breaking!!! Jon Lester and Mike Napoli traded for Eric Hosmer... !!!

Anyone care to explain why this would not make sense for both teams? I bet people here can't.

    Alternate Timeline if you will......

lol. Yes but I was hoping for approval of the idea or for someone to explain how that would not be a sweet deal for both teams.

Hosmer is playing horribly this year... but has had success in the past, and only 24.

Kansas City is within a smidgeon of making the play-offs at their current rate of play - and in despite of Hosmer barely registering an extra base hit in over a month.

Napoli provides leadership - short term commitment for the cash weary Royas, and offensive spark.

Lester joins Shields to provide the best 1-2 for the top teams.... or close to it...

Hosmer is a key part to the future, Napoli is gone sooner than later, and Lester can always be re-signed over the winter.

I would ask for Jorge Bonifacio and Sean Manaea (Royals #3 & 4 prospects) on top of Hosmer.

Takes two to tango, Miami wants to compete which means he likely isnt for sale until the winter.

My trade makes complete sense.... KC can afford to move a younger player because their entire team is young... Hosmer is only one of many that are part of the young corp.... KC should make this trade.... for Boston it is a great way to land a #5 #6 hitter, a first-baseman of the future..... easily a 25HR/75 Ribbies man.

2 each his own but I'd take napoli over hosmer every time

Lester can always be re-signed over the winter.

I saw U suggest this last night

assuming a team would trade 4 him without being able to sign him

it still seems pretty risky 2 me

I'm guessing part of wanting to stay somewhere  is about not wanting 2 move

if one has to move anyways the where might night matter as much

maybe he ends up really liking the new place

can anyone think of some examples of recent

sign & trade  trade & sign

Whom would the Red Sox want from the Seattle Mariners for Jon Lester and Mike Napoli?

Lester is from the Seattle area and Napoli met with the Seattle front office in November 2012 when Napoli was a free agent.
