    In response to Softlaw1's comment:

Anderson is a performance pipe dream. He's officially this year's pitcher from other grass sugar daddy, as opposed to the current payroll on Lester, Buch, Lackey, and the newer talent in Doubrant and Tazawa. Anderson in the AL East on a full-time basis will expose him as the 2nd rate pitcher he is.

You didn't even know who Anderson was 2 weeks ago. Now, you can project his future in the AL East.

    Silly clown.

Brett Anderson has an affordable 5.75M this year. If the A's are not going to be contenders then I see a July trade or one in the 2013 offseason. His contract goes from 8M in 2014 to 12M is 2015 both club options with a 1.5M buyout.

The A's did very well without Anderson for much of 2012.

They need offense and help at several positions. They want to keep their budget down.

While I doubt they trade Anderson, there are certainly factors that make a deal still possible.
