That was incredible, wasn't it? I think Cano would still be batting if he hadn't already clinched. One of those nearly landed in the Grand Canyon.
The only bad thing about it was having to listen to Berman. -

I agree. Berman was just awful. Both Cano and Gonzalez were great. Cano a little more so. -

Berman was awful. It was actually a pretty decent event, I'm not normally into the derby but with a Yankee and a member of the Sox in the final it was pretty cool. Good final and two beautiful swings between the two players. -

Berman is the worst! Cano was on fire. Gonzalez was effortless! -

And I hate it that he stole "back back back" from Red Barber (try to find Gionfriddo's catch off DiMaggio for a good example of it).... -

I actually enjoyed the derby for the first time. Both players have these smooth, level well balanced swings. Not violent like Papi and Fielder.
In the end, it came down to Sox vs Yanks.
Here is to hoping we can get back to the ALCS with both teams. It just doesn't get better than that in the AL. -

Yeah, Jimdavis that is what happened. You were celebrating AGONs 11, then you weren't, lunch money gone. -

It didn't take long to get a snide remark from a Yankee troll.

Pretty cool for Cano that his dad pitched to him.

I wasn't celebrating anything. I am smart enough to know that Cano could hit more than 11 in a round. It came as no surprise. I was more interested in studying two really nice swings and analysing them with my sons. You see, everything for me is not about Sox Yanks given that Papi, Cano and Gonzalez are all very close. I save my rooting for real games. So, I still have my lunch money. It can only be taken in October. I'm betting that won't happen in 2011. But if winning the home run derby does it for you, i'm happy for you. -

Great Show!
Gonzalez had one of the most impressive HRs I have ever seen. Hitting it out to left center when no one else came close when they hit it in that direction shows what a special player he is.
as for Cano, man what a tear! for one night, i enjoyed his work. I always said since he joined the yankees that I fear him the most. way more than A-fraud and Jeter. but my favorite part of the night had to be the interaction of the father and son.
"50,000 people booing you does not mean a thing compared to your father frowning at you."
SO TRUE hahahaha i loved it when he tied it and the father did not even crack a smile. -

Jose Cano was living every dad's dream last night. It was cool despite what WC might say about it. I enjoyed the event and was not worried about Sox Yanks. -

They should change the name of the “Home Run Derby” to “Steroids on display “

As much as I dislike the Stankees, your right "Babe", Cano was a "beast". Cano not only hit more home runs, but many of them were 400' plus. -
