Re: Cano flies to Seattle to meet with the Mariners

If the Yanks lost Cano, they will sign Choo in a heartbeat and trade Gardner.  Ben will not pay Choo that kind of money I think.  And even if Choo comes to Boston, he's not playing the CF.  He's either RF or LF.

Yankee Fans will go crazy if they lose Cano. I would if I was a Yankee fan. They will lose a lot of Power going into next season.

might be good time for Ben to sneak an offer in........

No. There is no good time for Ben to make an offer to Cano. There is no place for Cano on the 2014 team, on the 2020 team, on the 2024 team, or in the budget from now until doomsday.
Ditto.

What do the Sox need with another 2B?  I kinda like the one we already have.

Give me Choo,  re-sign Napoli & Drew and done.
Exactly, sign Choo long term, Nap or Hart and Drew.  The team will be as good or better than last season, have a much better leadoff hitter with more pop and won't lose prospects.  JBJ is not the answer full time just yet period.  An outfield consisting of an often injured but very important Victorino with Nava, JBJ, Carp and Gomes wouldn't be very productive.

Yup and get better anyway but still need to find pitching.  Not only that they could swoop up Hanley next season to replace Jeter.  If the Sox can't or don't want to commit to Choo they may be sorry.  We need a leadoff hitter and he is the best in baseball not to mention being much more durable than Ells.  JBJ will not help our already weak OF offensively for another year or two.

Wow.  Crazy.  This might not be a bad thing for the yanks.  Pujols left and st louis was fine.  Im glad he left but the yanks will go trade for phillips, sign choo and still have a solid hitting team.

Sorry, i thought the yanks.  Seatlle still doesnt have much of a team.  King felix and cano wont change the standings that much.  Adding price would sure help though.

nope.  i cannot recall a single instance where the yankees have been outbid by anyone.  lest of all for one of their "homegrown" players.  guess Cano wasn't a "true yankee".

this non-signing has just dropped the yankees to a mid 80's win team.  gonna be a loooooong season in the bronx.......

hey Moon, probably not, the only FA cases i can think of where that person was sort of still at the top of the profession at the time are probably Maddux and Cliff Lee...though they probably weren't "steals" per se, because they returned to familiar surroundings
