Carp may never live this down ...

Will ANY sports channel fail to replay Carp caught looking vs Murphy, and Carp's subsequent ejection?

Murphy is the ONLY pitcher not to surrender a run ... does not issue a walk.

Someone's going to want to sign him at the trade deadline!

Carp is bush league for getting tossed in a rout.

Yeah, that was ridiculous. You got  struck  out by a left fielder. Sit down and laugh with everyone else.

And the thing is, the pitch was a strike.

Yeah....I've been big on Carp this season and was happy they signed him this Spring.....but he moved down a bunch of notches in my book with his behavior.  He had a GREAT game....then he get's struck out by a position player....join your teamates, laugh your head off about it and move on.

The kicker was....it was a NASTY pitch that he struck out on.....could have been a lot worse!

This is as much an overreaction as Carp's as far as "moved down a bunch of notches." He had a bad moment -- nothing more, nothing less. And as far as getting struck out by a position player, he's hardly the first that's ever happened to. It was a nasty pitch.

So now I've seen a replay of it on ESPN Quick Pitch.

Murphy was practically laughing the whole time he was on the mound!

I think the stadium PA folks should play a song off of Joe West's album every time he wrings someone.

I don't really care about Carp's antics after striking out as long as he keeps hitting the way he has been lately.

He has so far been one the Sox better acquisitions this season especially for the cost and the cost of his salary.

That ball was too high anyway. I could care less about Carp telling the ump what he thought of the pitch. I was a ball. Hes not the 1st player to K vs a position player and wont be the last. No big deal.

It happens more than one would think and for good reasons.

These guys are geared for speeds of 85+ mph.  Now a guy comes in throwing 75, it's totally different look and they are getting 3-4 pitches to adjust.  Combine that with the fact that these situations almost always occur in a rout (the O's game a couple years ago not withstanding), so guys are up there swinging from their heels.

    Good points.

Besides, Mike Carp has been a beast thus far.  You are not gonna see me doling out demerits to him over this silly incident.

That was definitely strike 3, and he was an idiot to get all riled up about it. And he's probably the first player to get ejected from the winning side of a 17-5 game. That said, I'm not calling for him to be sent to the Green Grass League.
