    Do I trust him?

I see no reason for Cherington to be duplicitous with Red Sox fans except when it's prudent not to reveal his hand in working on perspective deals or protecting players and management from hearsay allegations.

Do I think he'll bring the team back into a position to contend for the World Series?

That's a tall order.  Nobody really knows.

Make it easier on yourself. Just accept the fact that Lackey's not going away.

Carnie, San Diego might take him providing that the Sox would be willing to pick up the bulk of the remaining tab.

Why would we do that? Lackey would probably be very good pitching at PetCo park, especially working for Bud Black. I could see eating some of his salary but not all of it.

Yes like Oakland is taking Young back because the Sox are paying for Young which is ridiculous. No wonder Young is excited about going back there with the Sox footing the bill for next year.

My choice is Thad Levine. No, I don't trust Cherington, but I will give hm a chance and watch carefully what he does over the next year or two.

Wow, he is wicked similar to Cherrington it is scary. Both went to really good, really exspenive colleges, got master degrees from state school and basically worked in baseball since the late 1999 after they got their degrees. Cherington has had a little more success though.

What would be good to know is what were his positions on every move made by Theo over the last 3 seasons. Did he push for Crawford?  Did he want to trade for AGon. We may never know but I think we will have a good idea soon enough.

Keep trying, donrd4.  Channel your inner Fox Mulder.  You can do this.  You have got some Conspiracy Theorist in you, so GET IT OUT!!

Seriously, get it out. Somehow.  Here's a few thoughts - try using grammar, spelling, and making some bloody sense for a change.  And the Ray Charles reference?  Are you really going to go with that??!!?  C'mon!!

Pretty weak, dude.  Whatever you're selling I am NOT buying....

Maybe Ben is the secret agent or mole refered to in Harness' thread.

Damn! Now I can't get that song out of my head.
If Ben is the mole, then I have to believe IDIOTS is his publicist.
The whole idea was to get Theo out of town.

I'm beginning to think this may be mob related.

My guess is that if in fact Crawford was Epstein's idea and Henry wasn't really in favor, our new GM will be on a short leash.  I guess the question should really be Do you really trust ownership.  Me....????
